Anyone else ever notice how Mac never carries a wallet?

he always seems to just have loose money in his pocket.. even his drivers license and ID cards are just loose in his pocket.

and...and...and... OMG.. How much money did he pull out of his pocket in Runners!?? Looked like my whole months paycheck!!!

Anyway I use to not use a wallet like Mac in my younger days.. trying to emulate him as much as I could... but decided it was a stupid idea so ended up using one, just so I had everything in one place.

Old discussion from before the crash but indeed an interesting one. Though not easy, if he also keeps his credit cards in there and they get scratches on it, it becomes useless. Than again Mac's a cash man!!! As said in Flame's End, he always had pockets full of junk.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.

When Pete arrives at the scene where Mac goes missing, a police officer hands him a wet wallet with Mac's ID in it.

That isn't "Pirates"; it's "DOA: MacGyver". But you're right, the ID was in a wallet instead of just in his pocket, unlike "Strictly Business" when everything was apparently loose.

yeah i just watched DOA MacGyver, and they do indeed find what appears to be either a wallet or an ID holder.

I can't help thinking it was a plot device though, because several times throughout the show we see MacGyver pull out either money or his ID card loose from his pocket.

In fact in the episode "Easy Target" we see the contents of his pocket spill all over the ground and theres no wallet to be seen, but there is a loose ID card and money, so it seemed kinda out of place for them to find a wallet in his jacket in the DOA episode.

MacGyver didn't use credit cards for money because he was using them to rig up controls of European traffic lights..............

Some people like to use a money clip to hold a few bills together- and that, with a Phoenix Foundation expenses credit card and Swiss Army Knife is probably all MacGyver needed. Maybe he was so used to running around that he liked to just have the essentials handy. (Why he wouldn't want to put them into a wallet for easier carrying- Who knows?) I guess that's just a MacGyver quirk.

In the runner doesnt jennifer takes macs wallet or is it assumed she just takes his money? I think he was worried a wallet is easier to take or lose. If he doesn't have all his things in one spot it would be harder to lose or have stolen.

The answer is easy, see... Mac is always losing his wallet, or having it taken from him by bad guys or confinscated by overzealous Interpol agents... it makes sense, doesn't it, that occasionally he would be without one?

Yay! I have something in common with MacGyver.

It's so easy just to bring my payment card.

I had this topic in mind while watching "Blow out" and was hoping to catch a glimpse of Mac's wallet (at the supermarket robbery). One of the robbers tells Mac to give him his wallet but we don't get to see it.

It has nothing to do with MacGyver. But I haven't carried a wallet in about 20 years. A money clip and a little card carrier that I made out of an envelope suit my needs just fine.

In Nightmares episode, where Mac is sitting on Neilson office, we see only one close shot from the table where we see SAK and his watch and there propably also some brown or black wallet.
