I've been a bit busy with real life, so now I'm playing catch up a little trying to go through these threads. So what have I missed?

I can see the leather jacket is back! And is it right the voiceovers, and maybe even an opening gambit or two? I saw the thing about asking RDA as well...

I'm getting very excited about this now! They really HAVE listened, and its starting to feel like the real deal. I especially liked the Entertainment Tonight clip, as we got to see "Mac". Lucas comes across as the original character in that way more than the original trailer they put out. I'm impressed!

So what else is new? Apart from Pete being a gal!

They are working on bring Murdoc back, and they wish to reintroduce other characters from the original too. No one specific but me thinks Penny will be one.

I wondered if they wanted RDA to be Harry, as he was a bit of a regular! Murdoc really is a must, isn't he?

Getting used to a female "Pete" is going to be the hardest bit for me. I never did accept Starbuck being a girl in Battlestar!

I'm still amazed at the transformation from that first trailer to what we're getting now. Complaining really did work! I know people thought it was a bit of a silly point, but I do find Lucas looks more the part with his current hairstyle too. Much more "Mac".

The question is, do I now want to be "spoilered" more, or should I keep away from them and sit back and enjoy on the day? Decisions!

I wondered a bit about the wild stories spreading as if RDA already committed to this project. It was apparent from watching the panel discussion at Comicon that they were taking great liberties with their words. They were saying they had spoke with him but their faces looked like "Who is Richard Dean Anderson again??"

Generally, I hate using the word awesome, because the American people tend to over use the word, and over time it has diluted its strong expressive meaning.

But on this occasion, I think it is appropriate...and befits the situation.

I had to move Office yesterday - no more cozy Little Office with 3 People in total while sitting in the corner, but big Office with 8 People in total - and because I'm sitting in the middle of the room now,, everyone can see onto my Screen.

So no more risky Internet Surfing anymore unless I'm all alone in here ;-)

I liked everything except George Eads. The more I see and hear ofhims the more annoying he becomes to me.

He doesn't seem to know or respect the source material at all. He wanted to do a MacGruber-like spoof for God's sake. From the way he interrupted a fans question at the comic-con panel he seems more interested in himself than showing respect for the fans. So far for he's portrayed the obnoxious self-centered ego-inflated arrogant stereo typed "star" to a T.

I'd like to think that will change once we start seeing the character in context of the show, but I'm not holding my breath.

I think he plays the part very well.

From what I saw in that little sneak peak, I laughed every time Eads was on screen.

Especially loved the end with the Bro thing, and the hand shake. Nice Touch.

I will fondly remember the original, but I don't want to see George Eads copying Bruce McGill's portrayal... So I'm glad that Eads is taking the source material and putting his own fresh take on this character.

I think the whole thing about George Eads interrupting a fan's question has been blown out of all proportion. If you watch it back, there was more than one instant were the actors and Peter Lenkov had difficulty hearing the questions. So I strongly believe Eads never meant to do it on purpose. And I bet that the Fan in question hasn't lost much sleep over it or though about it since.

I don't think his interruptions are meant to be rude. Some people don't really recognize what they're doing. I have a friend that does that... yet, she's my most trusted and loyal friend. It's just one of her quirks... if she interrupts something important, I just tell her to wait until I'm finished and she always apologies and waits until I'm done.

No big deal.

Not sure how I feel about Kate's response about RDA being "contacted". I know Kate from my time on that forum, and she has a habit of jumping to conclusions about things. Not that she's not a nice person, but sometimes she comes off as rather... erm... grouchy. So, I generally take what she says with a grain of salt... friend of RDA or not. I've accepted the fact he may not be in the reboot, so if he's not... I'm okay with that.

I think the reboot can stand on it's own without him. It would just be nice to see him on there, at least once.

I agree,

H.50 has been a very strong and successful show without the need to bring back original characters.

It would be lovely to have RDA feature on the new show, CBS are open to it, but RDA has to make that decision.

The show will be made and I feel, will be a success - with or without him involved.

The difference being, he has a chance to make some money out of his appearance... or three, if he so wishes.

And that might go towards a nice new car or putting a daughter through college.

I know... what I'd do?

The sneak peak really looks very promising. I feel so much more optimistic about this than I did after that first trailer.

As for RDA's involvement, I really don't mind either way. Sure, it would be fun if he decides to do a guest spot, but it could also be a bit distracting, and it might undermime Lucas Till, since many people would see RDA and start saying, "Hey! That's the REAL MacGyver!!" So, if they really want to bring anyone back from the original series, it might be safer to bring back people like Michael Des Barres, Bruce McGill or Teri Hatcher, etc. Besides, RDA sounded like he really didn't want to do it, so unless his attitude towards it changes, it's probably better if he doesn't bother.

Wow, that building behind him looks a LOT like MacGyver's houseboat! Lol Rubber duckies... XD If memory serves me correctly, I think RDA has a thing for rubber duckies. But, it's probably just coincidence.

The episode in which Mac had that rocket was "The Ugling Duckling," wasn't it? So the rubber duckies could be a nod to that.

I would say that the picture matches with the section highlighted in green. So we will have to admit that KiwiTek was right:

It seems that the house will have a big backyard.

I would say that it won't be exactly the houseboat, but... maybe a house in the nature? (do you see the tree in the right side of the lenkov's picture?)

Perhaps a subtle easter egg. Now you mention the rubber duckies something has come to my mind but I can't recall it exactly. In which episode did the rubber duck appear?

I'm not sure if that image really appeared in an episode. Yes in "The Ugling Duckling" some rockets appeared, but I don't remember MacGyver holding the rocket.

I think that in some episode appeared a rubber duck, but I can be wrong.

I know that shot of Mac holding the rocket didn't actually appear in any episode, but I'm pretty sure it was taken during the filming of the Ugly Duckling episode. I think (though I admit I may be wrong since I haven't watched that episode in ages) that he wore that same outfit in that episode, and the rocket in the episode looked the same as the one in the photo.

Still, if that IS what the rubber duckies are all about, it's a REALLY obscure reference!

Justin Hires first day, and our titular character hasn't let fame get the better of him. Really nice to see!

You're right! RDA posted several pics of Rubber Duckies on Twitter back when he was still active on his account... but yes, could be coincidence. Maybe they had a Rubber Ducky Swim Contest on the crew? ;-)
