CBS have announced that they be making their shows available for on-demand viewing through Boxee’s Media Center software later this year. They have said that they will be making both old and new shows available, including MacGyver. It’s not yet known if the on-demand viewing will count as a purchase or a rental, nor has there been any indication of price.

Boxee users could soon have access to programming from all four of the major broadcasters, through a combination of subscriptions and on-demand purchases with Boxee previously announced that it had struck a deal with Hulu to bring full-length episodes from ABC, Fox and NBC.

Did CBS purchase MacGyver from ABC? I noticed on the DVDs that it says CBS, but the show was always aired on ABC, so I never quite understood that.

I'm wondering the same thing.

CBS purchased Paramount Studios/Pictures which is the production studio who produced the show and still own the rights.
