A new version of the episode is currently in production, re-edited using footage shot in 1997 as well as updated visual effects. The beginning will be slightly altered, a new scene will be added, and the nudity scene will be taken out, although the final movie will be roughly 7 minutes shorter than the original episode. Joel Goldsmith will re-score the music. It will be released on DVD in 16:9 widescreen format, and may also be aired on television

Plus you forgot the most important thing: Richard Dean Anderson will do the commentary together with Brad Wright (has done it already, actually). Can't wait to hear THAT! It's his first one.

OMG! Nobody said anything about RDA doing commentary! I must have!

Brad Wright talked about it at the Creation con in Vancouver last weekend. He and RDA did the commentary together, and it sounds as if they had a wonderful time doing it.

He described the new version of COTG as the "Director's Cut" -- the movie done the way they had always wanted to do it, without having to deal with what Showtime wanted.
