Here's another one I just found which appart from the lining looks identical to MacGyver's jacket

Wow. Beautiful jacket and very Mac-like indeed. Another big difference (besides the lining) is the color of wrist and waist bands - black instead of brown. And look at the price! I'd say a bit over the top.

I'm sure you can. But a new jacket will never give you that special vintage MacGyver feel, and hat's why I would never buy it. But then, I'm a sucker for vintage and second hand clothes, shoes, accessories, furniture, anything.

You've got a point there. But looking at the market right now, there are not that many "screen accurate" MacGyver jackets available. What kind of flight jacket Chevignon is supposed to reintroduce this spring or summer is still unknown, if I'm not mistaken, so maybe we're not talking Mac's jacket anyway. Besides, I think I'd have a hard time travelling with an "original" Chevignon from the mid 80ies, as hard to get a hold of, as they are. And If I had to choose between the one listed on ebay and getting a new one, I'd get the new one in this case. Breaking it in can be quite fun I imagine...

Has anyone been able to find anything more about the Chevignon jacket being released? So far I've found nothing unfortunately. I was hoping by this time that we would at least know which jacket it was going to be. I can only hope they bring back the one from the show

This Avirex jacket has been on eBay for a while. It is one of the rare ones with the tartan lining similar to the Chevignon only it's blue/green instead of the classic checkerboard colors. Thought I would post it because the Avirex jackets with this lining don't appear that often. Scroll down to the see pics where the lining is visible.

I was at the store yesterday and saw a man with an Avirex G-2 jacket. It was the really vintage looking distressed tan one with either really dark brown or black cuffs and waistband. The reason I'm sharing this is because this is the first time I've ever seen someone wearing a G-2 jacket anywhere. Since I've been searching for this style from various brands for a very long time, this was kind of exciting lol. Strangely enough, there was an Avirex G-2 on eBay that I had been watching that had just ended. It looked identical to the one I saw on the man. I wonder if he was the winning bidder? I also wonder if he was a Mac fan haha
