Just out of curiousity. Is any of you watching the World Cup by any chance? Did you ever watched it and if so for which countries do you root for?

I've been watching here and there. Last game i saw was the with Belgium Vs Brazil. Amazing game. Belgium played very well. However all the teams i rooted for are out so its a whole new ball game so to speak.

Belgium lost against France. Merde. We still get to play to consolation finales though against either England or Croatia. We still might get a 3rd place though.

The referee also seemed to side with France, especially near the end. Seems fishy to me.

I kinda hoped England would take care of Croatia but no luck there. My thought was if Belgium defeated France and Croatia won from England we would play the finals against England in a rematch for the cup. I guess we have to settle for less this time in the consolation finals, though we can still write history if we win and end up 3rd. I hope Croatia will win the finals against France, but it wouldn't surprise me if France will win.

Anyway with this generation we still might have a chance at the European Cup in 2020. And by then some of the newcomers will probably get their shot. I just hope we never fall back to the level we had between 2002 and 2014. We missed 5 major tournaments then.

It was a glorious effort. I am routing for Croatia but we will see how it turns out on Sunday.

Yes, it was and who knows what happens tomorrow. Gotta record the game, it'll be the first and only that I can't see live, due to work and it's set at 4 pm.

Today the national team, the Red Devils are being honoured in Brussels. They were received at the royal palace by the king and queen and will appear at the Great Market as well. For the first time since the World Cup in 1986, this happens. In 1986 they became 4th, this time they became 3rd and it's well deserved, even though they deserved to play the finals as well. Maybe in the European Cup in 2020.

What a game. It was frustrating though because Croatia kept on doing the same thing again and again. Literally giving penalties to France. And their goalkeeper wasn't too bright either.

Game on Saturday was much better and Belgium played very well.

I kinda dozed off during the game. I had been watching the honouring all afternoon and it's just so very hot. There's been a heat wave for like a month now. By the time I came to again, first half was almost over and it was like 2-1 for France. And then Croatia scored that second goal on such a lame way for France. Anyway it was like I expected: France would win.

The game of Saturday, I only saw half. The game was on where I was working though they told me the score. Back home I watched another part of it. It's such a pity we lost against France. I just didn't like the way France played.

Despite we didn't play the finals we did get a 3rd place and I'm happy with it and who knows during the European Cup. The next World Cup is in 2022 in Qatar and for once will be played during the winter because it will be considered too hot to play in the summer.

Welcome to the forums Sophia1969. Between France and Croatia, i too was hoping Croatia would win. That's the way it goes i guess.
