You can vote for MacGyver at the Canadian "Best of TV Awards": https://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-2018.html

It’s not any prestigious contest, but it's fun and easy. At the moment, you can vote for the categories “Best TV Show”, "Best Stunts", for the characters in the category “Favorite TV Character” plus for the category “Best Non-Human Character or Prop” (I’ll say the robot or the SAK are the most likely candidates here).

For now, you can vote as many times as you want and choose as many boxes to tick as you want. If the show is not available to choose from the list, you can add it into the “other” box (they will be added at the bottom of the list as soon as several votes have come in - usually takes a day or two).

So add your favorites in there and vote as many times as you want as long as the categories stay open. If it’s like last year, there will be several rounds with new categories added over time.

P.S.: "Angus MacGyver" is one of the 10 leading choices in the category “Favorite TV Character” at the moment.

I don't remember tongue.gif but I know I've seen him in BtS photos. So maybe the scenes were filmed, but ended on the cutting room floor.

Though if it's the 2018 awards, I guess voting is okay regardless if for S2 or for S3?

P.S.: They'v also added the new categorie "Best Writing" today.

(I hate the robot anyway XD)

Hm, curious to see who'll end up winning

I hate the robot, too tongue.gif

It's usually the "Big" fandoms with a chance at winning - last year for Lucifer, Supernatural, Big Bang Theory for example. But it's not anything semi-famous like "People's Choice Awards", so some fandoms probably aren't that interested in voting and winning - better chance for the underdogs. Also, because it's unlimited voting and region-free with no need to register yourself before you can start voting, it's a fun one.

Update: They added the category “Best Writing” (November 23).

Also, 1st-round-voting for “Favorite TV character” ends soon. Cut-Off is 32 votes. So make sure our MacGyver characters make it to round 2!

Posted by: DashboardOnFire 25 November 2018 - 02:19 PM
Update: They added the category “Best Couple” (November 25).

Posted by: DashboardOnFire 28 November 2018 - 02:39 AM
Update: They added the category “Best Director” (November 28).

At the moment, the only episode available is 2x12: Mac + Jack (by Ron Underwood), but you can add any other episode into the open box. Only requirement is that it needs to have an original airdate in 2018.

Can't say I think the new MacGyver deserves awards over some of the other shows like OZARK! Also I love Santa Clarita Diet. The genres are all over the place, seems unfair to go against each other.

Well, it's pretty much the one winning with the fans that vote the most tongue.gif
Doesn't say much about quality or production value, of course.

Update: They added the category “Best Episode” December). One available yet for MacGyver, but as always you can add your own favorite into the box. You can choose every episode that premiered in 2018; meaning everything starting with 2x12 and later.

You can still vote for "Best Director". Episodes availabe to vote for at the moment are 2x12 (Ron Underwood) and 3x04 (Peter Weller).

Sorry for not seeing this post sooner. You can add and vote whichever you like and vote as often as you like ;-)

Update: They added the categories Best Guest Actor/Actress.

I'll say we keep adding/voting the two Murdocs tongue.gif

Posted by: DashboardOnFire 10 December 2018 - 12:20 PM
You can directly vote for MDB as Best Guest Actor and Amy Smart as Best Guest Actress now (they've been added at the end of the lists). Makes for much easier voting.

I don't think David Dastmalchian is eligible for Best Guest Actor because he appeared in at least 3 episodes in 2018. But he will be eligible for Best Recurring Actor once they open that category.

Update: They added the category Best Recurring Actor/Actress.

There's only Tate Donovan on the list so far - but as always, you can add your own favorite and vote as often as you want.

I guess David Dastmalchian is eligible to add, as is Kate Bond. Requirement is that the episode needs to have an original airdate in 2018 and that the actor/actress was in at least 3, but less than 7 episodes. (I haven't counted how many appearances Reign Edwards had, so I'm not sure if she's eligible as well.)

The page says:

Minimum 3 to maximum 7 appearances in a program in 2018. This INCLUDES leads who are on programs that did not have enough episodes in 2018 for the lead to be eligible for the Best Actor categories

Posted by: DashboardOnFire 15 December 2018 - 10:27 AM
Update: Additional names have been added by fans.

You can now easier and faster vote for David Dastmalchian (Murdoc) and Kate Bond (Jill) at the bottom of the "Recurring Actress/Actor" categories.

Also, I checked Reign Edward's IMDb page. She's listed for 7 episodes in 2018 so Reign as Leanna should be eligible for the category "Recurring Actress" as well.

Posted by: DashboardOnFire 23 December 2018 - 04:35 PM

As much as I like MDB, I can't honestly say his guest appearance was all that great, unfortunately. He really wasn't given enough to do. I know he's coming back for another guest appearance, and I hope they make better use of him this time around.

Well, even if he had a lot of scenes I couldn't compare them to other guest appearances since I don't watch many other shows. I just voted for him because... well, MDB tongue.gif But yes, I hope he has some bigger scenes with more acting and dialogue this time arround...

Results are trickling in.

The Reboot made rank 4 in the category "Favorite TV Program": https://canadagraphs.weebly.com/polls-and-awards-blog/best-of-tv-awards-2018-winner-favorite-tv-program

It placed better than many fan favorites dominating the awards for years, so that's pretty good I think. Ranks 2, 3 and 4 are only 4 votes apart. Only 4 or rather 5 votes more and the Reboot would have placed 2nd in this category.

Here's a screenshot of the results:

Winners & Finalists of last years Best Of TV Awards are already on the list. So we have already following nominations for MacGyver:

At the moment, you can vote for the categories “Best Couple" and "Best Talk Show". For "Best Couple", only couples in an episode with a 2019 airdate are eligible, so only after Episode 3x11! That means no MacGyver and Nasha pairing, but you could vote for Bozer and Leanna, for example.

(Rules for the category: characters must be either married, dating or shared intimate romantic exchange.)

well, it definitely hurts less when just ticking a box than writing into the open field every time tongue.gif

some might have added George as a new choice in the category of the regular actors... but he counts as recurring for S3.

It's on again - you can vote for MacGyver at the Canadian "Best of TV Awards": https://canadagraphs.weebly.com/best-of-tv-awards-2020.html

It’s not any prestigious contest, but it's fun and easy. You can vote as many times as you want and choose as many boxes to tick as you want.

At the moment, you can vote for the categories “Best Couple", "Favorite TV Show", "Best Stunts" and "Best Writing". For "Best Couple", there's still Bozer and Leanna listed from last time, but you can add your other favorite pairing ;-)

(Rules: characters must be either married, dating or shared intimate romantic exchange any time in 2020.)
