Airdate: Apr. 27, 2018 Story: Marqui Jackson Teleplay: Lindsey Allen and Nancy Kiu Director: Ericson Core Guest Cast:Arye Gross (Dr. Isaac Herman) , Greg Perrow (Travis Long) , Joshua Childs (NASCAR Pit Crew) Michael Bisping (Porter) , Erik Bello (Cobb) , Alex Solowitz (Brazel) , Christopher Frontiero (Marcel) , Lloyd Pitts (Gate Guard)
Mac and Riley are attacked by a group of masked men after the government calls them in to examine a mysterious object that crash-landed in the Nevada desert. Also, Riley uncovers new information about Mac’s father but questions whether to deliver it to him after he says he needs to move on.
I actually found the side story of Matty and Jack discussing Mac's father far more interesting than the main story in this one.
It was nice seeing Mac and Riley together on their own.
The race track scene was a nice nod to Collision Course and I liked how they went back to it later in the episode. I think that's the first time we've seen an opening gambit tied to the actual episode like that?
The audience number is almost the same as last week, pretty in line with all the other 8pm shows that lost some viewers - but the show also lost in demo and reached an all-time-low in the important demo group.

It has probably nothing to do with the ratings; at least not with this episode (since the news was posted on Thursday), but the 2 reruns they had initially scheduled for the Fridays as long as H50 is still on were apparently "cancelled". They will have the premiere of the new Season of "Undercover Boss" on May 11.

All I'll say is they'd better release season 2 on DVD a lot faster than season 1.

I liked the episode, though I think the storyline could have worked for a Halloween Episode as well. Thought it was nice to have the nod to "Collision Course".

Finally got around to watching this. The CBS app doesn't work on Xbox One without signing up for their All-Access package, so I had to resort to using my phone. Thankfully I was able to watch it without signing up for anything.
Saw the other throw backs to Collision Course and Bushmaster.
The dialogue between Jack and Matty was interesting. It's kinda how I figured it would go though. This show is pretty predictable. lol
Over all, it's a pretty decent episode. It was entertaining, to say the least. THOUGH, one thing that popped into my mind after the episode ended was... Jack Dalton is an idiot. lol

I think most shows are nowadays.
Jack is always an idiot XD

I think it could have happened sooner; wondering why she didn't confront him sooner.
Like Scorpion, the show is family-friendly fluff for 8pm; helping to unwind after a stressful day. Like most CBS crime/drama shows, it attracts women and kids as well. You don't need to have seen all the episodes to follow it and there aren't too many high stakes. It's constantly being praised as being kid-friendly with less violence than other shows. I think in both seasons, only one character died we actually cared about?
I think Season 3 will follow that build-up; the show staying on Fridays 8pm.

Didn't lose much in audience and the demo-rating stayed the same. I'm assuming the Season Finale will be similar (in Season 1, the three last episodes had similar audience numbers).

I think it was funny when Matty told Jack that he was acting like a child and that he needed to act his age. I was like, "Since when does Jack ever act like anything but a child?"

I watched this episode last night, and thought it was a pretty good one. I like the Mac/Riley combo. Jack is okay, but he gets a bit overbearing as Mac's partner, and he often seems a bit pointless in terms of what he can contribute to a mission. Riley is more subdued, which works better for my tastes, and she actually has some worthwhile skills.
I was reminded a bit of "The Wasteland" episode from the original series when Mac and Riley were pulling the injured scientist across the desert (I know it wasn't a desert in The Wasteland, but still, it was a remote location at night.)
The main story was a bit silly, but no sillier than some of the plots of the original series, so I can't complain about that (if anything, this was less silly than the UFO episode in the original.) And I enjoyed seeing the "dad" plot continuing. I hope the conclusion to that plot feels worthwhile after all this build up towards it!

This was an interesting episode as well. So glad, it was just Mac/Riley for a change. Mixing it up more, really helps. Every now and then one or two characters should stay behind.
Couple of nice throwbacks: Bushmaster, Collision Course, The Wasteland...
The conversation between Matty and Jack was very good, yes. I think more scenes like this should be in it.
The whole Area 51 thing was great and the angle of having the whole thing moved to somewhere else despite what people believe was hilarious. But maybe the characters were done a little too stereotypical. Two losers for soldiers and a somewhat rude scientist? I did like the alien prank and Jack's reaction to it. If it was only real.
Also interesting to see that this Mac seemed to believe there had to be some form of life somewhere else in the universe while original Mac needed a little more proof.

I don't think it's more violent then the original but more fast-paced and even that has changed for the better. I did notice Mac hasn't been in any fights or scuffles in recent episodes, while in the first season he seemed to engage in fights more often.
And when it comes to characters dying we care about... how many characters died in the original we cared about? Mike? Booker? Most characters appeared to die afterwards, so Mac can start investigating it.
Maybe it's time to change that? I still wouldn't mind to see Bozer die actually, but do we care about him? It's maybe a grim thought but I like to think how to up the ante even if that means making not popular decisions. Well, he's not out yet.
One more episode to go and then I'm through. I wonder when they'll air the third season here and when the season 2 will make it on dvd here.
