Ok, tell me the scenes that stand out to you as the most suspenseful!
I just watched Ghost Ship again, and that sequence on the ship is so great. No narration, just suspenseful music - and I'm embarrassed to say how many times that arm through the window made me jump, even when I knew it was coming Such a great jump scare...

MacGyver going through the funhouse in Brainwashed.
Also, when he was going down the hallway before he finds Booker in the Challenge.
Season 4 had a lot of great suspenseful moments.

I love those moments. The moments when he's checking dark places out is a typical MacGyver thing. Ghost Ship is indeed a nice one and I think the longest one in the series.
Among my favorites are:
Lesson In Evil when he checks out the monastery "duh-duh-duh-duh-duhduhduh" and crawls in through the window. Such a goosebump moment when he lands (music intensifies some creepy sound) and looks left and right before going down the hall. Then you hear it again: "duh-duh-duh-duh-duhduhduh."
The Wasteland. Simply one of my favorite openings. All you see is a wasteland, a dead open place, grey skies, suspenseful music and the blue Phoenix van wobbling over the bumps and then you hear Willis' somber voice to keep MacGyver company. Also the night setting is awesome when MacGyver and Mr. Bartlett are walking through the wasteland. The night is total blackness. There seemed to be no stars in the sky, no sound of other life. Just a black cover over a dead place.
The Prometheus Syndrome when he's in the newspaper building. After he found what he was looking for he just wanders around, no music until he finds Boardman's desk and then you hear the voice: "MacGyver. In here, MacGyver." The look on MacGyver's face is great, when he hears the voice and how he stands up. Suddenly all the lights inside him are on and then he goes after it. You can say whatever you want about season 7, but that is one of my favorite moments in one of my favorite episodes. I always thought you can't go dark if it's a bright and sunny day on the outside. Just like in Temple of Doom, once you see the children trash and run away from the palace, it's suddenly a bright day and the temple or the mine looks less scary then before. That's why I want dark things set during night scenes. This more or less proves me wrong, MacGyver is walking around in a dark building and he is lured into a trap high in the building to a storage place and has to walk through some sort of attic with lots of pipes. Then *bang* the door shuts and the bomb is ticking. Also one of my favorite moments. Great score too.
And lastly but certainly not least...
Trail To Doomsday in the sewers. Maybe considered one of the darkest moments ever in his final adventure. I just love it how the classical music stops, you hear his footsteps, some water pouring and then you see that big white 4 on the wall and you hear that: "rrruuuuhhhhhhnnnnn" when the score begins. He's alone, in a dark place like the sewers in the middle of the night, in a country where he has nobody he can trust or to go to. He took Paul's death so personal and now he has to retrieve the evidence of the hit. Some great moments when the rat jumps him and when he thinks he hears something. Yeah, definitely one of my favorites.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

I was thinking about that one too but he was still in contact with home base. Of course you don't have to be out of touch to have a suspenseful moment. Mac's running through woods where everything had died. The ending of that episode is pretty intense too but more in a tragic way. The close up of Pete when he sees Sandra Milhouse as an old woman is pretty intense just like when Mac sees her for the first time.
Another one is Obsessed, when Mac answers the phone and Murdoc asks him: 'What's wrong, MacGyver? Are you starting to see ghosts?' And then he traces Murdoc's phone number. Thats the kind of dark moments I like.

I think the "Ghost Ship" Ghost Ship scene is the best. It's suspenseful, cinematographic foreplay at it's best. Leads us straight down the garden path! You can almost smell that freshly painted steel onboard and as he slowly sweeps every nook and cranny of the boat. And yaaa just know that something is coming, but nothing could prepare any of us for the surprise we get as he lifts that cuppa. WHAM! Great stuff!
There's lots of great suspense in the Murdoc episodes ,,, Strictly Business comes to mind and when Murdoc appears out of nowhere with a rocker launcher / Bazooka …. and Mac must perform a quickie J-turn just to save his bacon and survive the moment.
The difference between the impossible and the possible lies in a man's determination.
Whether you think you can or you can't .... you're probably right!

Oh my gosh! I think I've only watched this episode once...maybe twice, but I think only once. Anyway, I almost dropped the device I was watching it on! As in, I dropped it, and caught it before it hit the floor.

Haha I for sure would have dropped my device if I were watching it on a mobile lol - I seriously feel so ridiculous that that scene still makes me jump even knowing it's coming. It's just so sudden
There aren't too many jump scares in MacGyver that I can think of - a small one in the same episode when the skeleton hand falls in front of him - but that's more of one for him than the audience lol

And I thought it was just me! Have to agree with other peoples choices too. Hmmm, might have to go and watch some more episodes, for research purposes of course
MacGyver: Two guys with bazookas blew up your cab. Jack: They blew up my cab with a bazooka? MacGyver: Two bazookas. But I can explain. Jack: Bazookas? You can explain bazookas? YOU CANNOT EXPLAIN BAZOOKAS!
"Trail to Doomsday," the moment when he passes his entrance exam into the terrorist cell and is ordered to execute the man he just defeated. Points gun at the man and... cut to commercial.
I was like "obviously he's going to find a way NOT to kill him, but **** if I can figure out what it is!"
