Not sure this really counts as a "MacGyverism" but I'll discuss it.
So when I started collecting How to Train Your Dragon figures several years ago, I made a "Dragon Zipline". (I confess, my mom helped me with figuring out the best materials). Basically, I would take several feet of fishing line, tie both ends to a couple of thumbtacks, and push the thumbtacks into opposite sides of my room. Then I would twist pipecleaners around the dragons into a harness shape, then fold the end of the pipecleaner around the fishing line. The result? I would pull the dragons over to the higher end of the fishing line, and watch them "fly" over to the other end of my room.
Then I started getting a little more creative. I dragged a container underneath the fishing line, and set out my toy farm animals on top of it. They just happened to be perfectly on scale with the dragons. Then I could take pictures of my dragons "raiding" a farm.
The one problem was the amount of time it took to set up the fishing line, then take it down at the end of the day. My mom always told me I could leave it up, (I had it set up in the walk-in closet area, so it wasn't in my way as I got ready for bed) But one time of walking into the strung-up fishing line accidentally, and I was like, "Nope."
Like I said, I don't know if this counts as a "MacGyverism", but I can picture Mac coming up with something like this.
Here's a picture of Toothless raiding a farm. (ignore my bookshelf right next to the scene)
