Amazon has listed the "MacGyver Manual" with a Release Date of November 6, 2018. Looks like it's the Phoenix Foundation Operations Handbook, so practically a book about "MacHacks" as they call them (instead of MacGyverisms, *sigh*) Here are the links: https://www.amazon.co.uk/Official-Macgyver-Handbook-Tricks-Resourceful/dp/1681884348/ref=sr_1_2?s=books&ie=UTF8&qid=1521638858&sr=1-2&keywords=macgyver http://amzn.to/2GOYOdV https://www.amazon.de/Official-MacGyver-Handbook-Tricks-Resourceful/dp/1681884348/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1521638569&sr=8-1&keywords=%22Lucas+Till%22 Although the title page uses the Reboot poster, the preview pictures of some pages reveal pictures of the Unaired Pilot and the Original Show, so this might be interesting for all the fans... |

Here's the Amazon US description (for now, the book is only available in English: The Official MacGyver Handbook: Tips, Tricks, and Hacks from TV’s Most Resourceful Secret Agent For over 30 years, the name MacGyver has been synonymous with astonishing feats of ingenuity, from fixing a car with nothing but water and egg whites to busting out of jail using a hairpin and a pair of repurposed handcuffs to, of course, saving the world with his favorite weapon, a simple paperclip. What you might not know is that every trick that the resourceful secret agent pulls off on CBS’s hit show has been tested and fact-checked by experts, and really works . . . most of the time. No one is saying that you should craft a DIY airplane out of trash bags and a lawnmower engine. But with this book, you could. The first official how-to guide to the MacGyver universe, this book is packed with how-to drawings and step-by-step descriptions of the hacks that made this character the world’s most resourceful secret agent. Based on the hit new series, with shout-outs to the classic show that started it all. Special sections feature interviews with the show’s resident experts and guests who actually concoct and test every contraption . . . including hilarious and hair-raising tales of a few that didn’t go so well. Full-color photos illustrate Angus MacGyver in his element (which is to say, danger!), and illustrated how-to drawings show exactly how it was done. The best hacks to try at home for yourself are highlighted (as well the ones you really, really should never do without a team of physicists and a first aid kit handy). So grab a paper clip, a pen knife, and some duct tape and prepare to save the day! Contents include: Your Toolbox: From bicycle tubes to vinegar, the 45 most useful tools in a Phoenix Agent’s toolkit. 13 Ways to Escape a Locked Room 43 DIY Spying Devices 18 Getaway Hacks 22 Ways to Baffle a Bad Guy 19 Formulas for Averting Imminent Disaster Paperback: 208 pages Publisher: Weldon Owen (November 6, 2018) Language: English ISBN-10: 1681884348 ISBN-13: 978-1681884349 Product Dimensions: 7.5 x 9.5 inches Shipping Weight: 1.1 pounds |

Apparently, the book is still in the editing phase (so the text is not final yet), but the layout shows us what the pages will look like: |

MacGyverism for Reboot Episode 1x03 (Awl) on the right. Doesn't look like they will mention what episode the MacGyverisms aka MacHacks will be from... |

And the last of the preview pages. Seems to be a fun gift for MacGyver Fans. I know there have been books like this around for a few years already, but I'm not sure if those were ever "official". |

This is kinda cool. Doubt I'll get one though, but certainly neat for collectors. |

I need this in my life. I need this in my life, like, yesterday. Oh, man... The science geek in me is just itching to start testing some of that stuff out in my back yard! |

It says 254 hacks..... they can't have done that many for the just the reboot alone, so it must also include original series MacGyverisms as well which means they're pulling the whole MacGyver collective together into one book, which is cool and good for everyone. |

The photos shown of the pages include both series. Shots of Lucas Till. The i.d. , Phoenix building and Phoenix Research are all from the classic series. |

I hope that this book still happens. I'm sure that pushing the release date back doesn't mean that it's going to be cancelled, but it still makes me nervous when they do stuff like that... I *really* wanna read this and try some of the hacks out for myself, so I hope it still gets published! |

Don't try anything dangerous. That would be bad, and I would miss you. Seriously though, I hope it does come out. I get pushing it back, but cancelling it now wouldn't make any sense. Of course, neither does holding back on DVD release dates and refusing to add bonus features. |

Me too! There are so many I'd love to try!!! |

I wouldn't mind having it just to have it. It looks like a lot of fun |

Yes, the more they push the date back the more I want it Last time I checked, release date was September 2019... so who knows... |

The amazon listing has been updated with new release date, photos and descriptions. Looks like it's going to now focus on the reboot with "shout outs" to the original. https://www.macgyveronline.com/news/macgyver-manual-sets-release-date/ |
