Aside from watching as a fan, when and why do you watch MacGyver? Lately I discovered that I have been watching during or after a stressful period. Usually I take a handful of episodes per season, usually skipping the bad ones and watch them in no particular order. This is mostly season 6 or 7 but this time I went from season 4 to 3 to 5. Not exactly what I had intended but I just keep going, which means I really need it. Still I have no intention of watching the show completely. Actually I've been planning to watch Magnum again from the start but suddenly Mac came in between. It's like nothing relaxes me as much as Mac does. It's 45 minutes of relaxing.

I used to watch an episode per day, but I got distracted by like... real life. lol

Generally, I watch MacGyver when I'm feeling particularly down or pessimistic, or if I need to make a difficult decision. For some odd reason, the show is very helpful in getting me to think more rationally.

I have certain episodes that I turn to, depending on my mood. Lately, I've been watching a lot of Season 3 and 4. I suppose because I'm currently the same age of MacGyver in those seasons, so I can kinda relate.

So do I most of the time. But I was like, saw those last time. Mostly season 6 and 7, those episodes makes me feel like a kid again. Now I just took them at random.

Season 3 always makes me feel like a kid, I guess because my earliest memories of MacGyver were with Season 3... like Widowmaker.

I may pop in some Season 5 this weekend. biggrin.gif

I also watch when I am down and / or stressed. I also find myself binge watching a lot when I feel as though I need to be more grounded...like, perhaps I haven't been treating people the way I should.

It's also my go-to show when I'm down or sick. It's like my chicken soup of TV. And I mean that in the best of ways! It's definitely a happy place

Exactly! I will throw in my earlier Mac episodes when I could really use a pick up. For me, they're comfort food without the calories thumbsup.gif

The music, dialogue, and cinematography are all very therapeutic. Some episodes better than others.
The nature/outdoors shows are traditionally less stressful, and so it goes with MacGyver. I will often put
an episode on before bed, and easily doze off in the middle of it. Like who needs those crazy new designer
sleeping pills with all their side effects when you have a Mac-DVD at the ready? biggrin.gif

TO de-stress like many have said. I never get tired of "The Survivors". Mac and Pete at their best

I usually watch during my lunch and breaks at work, or just before I go to bed. Both times are when I don’t have as much going on. Family life makes it difficult to watch any other time.

I started watching this show in the middle of a pandemic. My boss transferred me to remote work with the help of work time to track my work process, and I needed something to fill this information vacuum that appeared because i couldn't communicate with colleagues. I got so addicted and watched all the seasons before I returned to the office... haha
