QUOTE (Sheepy @ 1 May 2007 - 07:41 PM) | Call it my biggest flaw, but I'm always drawn towards jerks. I've only dated jerks.
For some reason "normal" guys don't appeal to me.
|
No Sheepy No! This is not the way! Bad boys are only good for one thing- bad relationships! Good guys are where it's at! I like to have have a guy superior or at least equal to me morally and intellectually. ( I will wait patiently for jokes along the lines of "Well that shouldn't be too tall of an order..."etc.) And he has to be pretty calm and steady to even out my hyperactivity! I can't stand bad boys, mean boys, cheating boys, or dumb boys....hence, um, MacGyver ....in my book, nice guys finish first! Like Mac This Victor Reinier dude sounds like a real piece of work. He's so attractive, but no amount of attractive in the world can make up for scandalousness and drama! Alec Baldwin sounds like such a jerk. He should be mortified, contrite, and ashamed. A little self-control may help him to stop name-calling at children.

I would go for the boys from SG1 and Atlantis. Even Rodney Mackay - I do think he is cute, though he hides it very good But I wouldn't go for real date-dates, I'm married to a wonderful man, and I have no intention of making a change in that. Just hanging out - that could be fun, I would love to cook for them - I love cooking. Or baking, making cake parties By the way, saw someone wondering where Viggo Mortensen came from - well, he is Danish, like me , but I don't know him, never met him, probably never will, he lives in CA. To be some one in Hollywood, you have to BE in Hollywood

I saw the link today but refused to click it. I just couldn't make myself watching it.
Did she really have to do this?
|
He actually gave her permission to film it. I think he thought it might help him sober up... I saw it on TV this afternoon. Poor guy. On the other hand it makes me proud my fav actor was never caught drunk. Or throwing phones at a receptionist. Or ranting at his daughter....
QUOTE | QUOTE Dark, filthy hair.
I'll never wash mine again. |
So, all you gotta do now is: don't wash your hair for a week grow a small beard (well, not exactly a beard, but you know what I mean) if you shave; do so with a blade ride horse back play guitar and be extremely good at skating
Piece 'o cake, ey?
Oh yeah, and lend me a copy of the EXTRA's DVD of LOTR!

A week? QUOTE | grow a small beard (well, not exactly a beard, but you know what I mean)

Yeah. Beardish like Aragorn, I looked like that two days ago. QUOTE | if you shave; do so with a blade
|
I use one considered all the scars. That might become a problem.
That too but I can always take classes.
QUOTE | and be extremely good at skating |
That can't be too much of a problem.
Absolutely.

Actually there are six of those three hours each. Just buy the big green extended edition box. I bought it for 80 euros while in other stores it was 150.

You mean the drug abuse? That's why I think it's great how he got a hold of himself again. Also thanks to the biking trip to Alaska He took on a role which put him in the shoes of a role model. And from what I know he loved it. My guess is he will tell Wylie when she's ready for it.

Rock, didn't you know? When he was on his way becoming a juvenile delinquent he tried lots of them. Especially a lot of LSD. I had an interview in which he said the biking trip opened his eyes. But I will look it up for sure, Astra. Question, hs anyone of you tried any drugs (no new thread, just a side trail from this one) I was offered cocaine a little over a week ago. I declined. I was a little outcast when I did so, but A) I don't know what happens after it B) It might be traceable for too long which could cause me lose my job C) I'd rather have fun with a gin and tonic... I'm such a wuss

Found the interviews.
I'll translate a few lines. After that I'll try and scan it, put it here (along with a complete translation)
They kind of are alike: Richard Dean Anderson (43) -old interview- and the brave action hero MacGyver. At least, that's what the actor says himself. "That role suited me perfectly as I'm quite adventurous myself. I was barely 17 when I left my elderly home for a 6000 km biking trip to Aslaska"
Nevertheless, Anderson isn't too proud when he thinks back of that period of time, as he came across the justice department regularly. "I was flat broke. I had to beg to stay alive. And if I ever ran hungry I stole whatever I needed. But I only did from people who could easily miss it"
"I must admit I've lived in a criminal environment for a while. But well, who roams the streets can easily come across the wrong kind of people. I used drugs and that cost a lot of money. For a while I was driver on nightly maraudings. But I've never taken actively part in burglaries and I never used violence"
Luckily, Richard Dean Anderson ended up at the right path right in time. After roaming for quite a while he was hired at the Californian "Marinaland"....
Etc.
Anyway, I guess I was wrong and he did use drugs after he got back from the biking trip. But the interview with Jay Leno which was recently added to the site here implies he took the trip to clear his mind...

Or I can hardly believe he used drugs, or it's just all a lie. Magazines/tabloids can write whatever they want.
And if he did use drugs, well, we all know it's a big no-no, but we all do stupid things when you're a teenager.
Michael Des Barres also used drugs, if I'm not mistaken, when he was in the hard rock business.

I believe it and quite frankly, I don't mind if RD has done drugs in the past. It's in the past.
We all do crazy things when we're young. Heck, I'm even doing stupid things at the age of -almost- well... older anyway.
Our past moulds us into we are at an older age. We all have our lessons to learn. And I think we can state for a fact RD did. Maybe he couldn't have portrayed Mac as brilliantly as he did if he hadn't had such a past. We know for sure he's against drugs, he's against weapons, against injustice and against violence. Just like MacGyver.

Here is a translation of a part of his biography in a German book I have about the series "Stargate", with episodes guides and the history of Egypt and such.
QUOTE | It was the time of the late sixties, a time where young people freed themselves of the social constraints and lies of their parents. It was the time of free love. Many young men in RDA's age lost their lives in Vietnam. He also demonstrated against this war, he became a member of the Hippies. Shortly before his final examination he left the university and moved to New York before he finally settled in San Francisco, the capital of the flower children.
While he was wandering around the city some day he came to the Haight Ashbury District, the stronghold of the Hippies, where he lived for several months. Indirect he even was a member of the group around the Hippie-kings Timothy Leary and Hunter Thompson.
He enjoyed the life in the communes and describes these days as the best of his life - including some, as he calls it, "interesting experiences". With this are not meant sexually excesses but experiences with drugs.
When asked directly about it RDA still is avoiding this question. But how wild it really must have been shows a quote from the interview with Tom Appelo from "Entertainment weekly": "Friends of my childhood are surprised that I lived long enough to reach my fortieth birthday." |
I also somewhere else read that he was in a gang that was stealing cars in his youth and would've come into jail for it if he had continued. And, while we're at it, I still don't know what to make out of the fact that he was climbing in high hills without any securing. I don't know whether I shall be in awe about it or just call it stupid - I mean, one wrong step and I would not know anyone of you! So, that's my proof, and I also believe it. I don't think the author is making this up. But like Sheepy, it doesn't throw me away. It's in the past and shall stay there. But I think he should be frankly about it, at least with his daughter. I definitely would be much more hurt if it was the other way 'round, if someone that I believed to be my hero suddenly would turn into someone I don't recognize anymore. But I don't fear that will ever be the case with Rick, as we all know him now (or, at least, think we know him). I never used any drugs myself, but I also never was offered some. Where I'm from it's not easy at all to get some, anyway. I never even once tried a cigarette. I'm not drinking coffee either, I just don't like it. And you really can't count the two or three occassions in a year when I drink alcohol So I'm pretty boring, actually. QUOTE (Sheepy @ 5 May 2007 - 10:34 AM) | But the interview with Jay Leno which was recently added to the site here implies he took the trip to clear his mind... |
My book says he did this trip right after he had left the hospital after the broken arms, to prove himself that he still was able to do sports.

Know how that feels I don't drink - neither coffee or alcohol, never liked it BUT... being a teenager wasn't easy without drinking alcohol in the weekends, so I did - drink, got drunk, occasionally, hated every minute of it Never did drugs, never had the chance, never wanted to. When I got a little older/wiser, I stopped pretending, and stopped drinking Today, I'm a saint *hugging myself* Don't drink Don't smoke Don't chase boys I'm fascinating

Yeah Sheepy!!! Way to go on the cocaine thing. The drug gives you a really euphoric high and then slams you down. For a while you are invincible but when the high ends, life becomes unbearably dull. Cocaine can be extremely addictive and it causes a ton of physical damage to your body. It sppeds your heartrate and raises your blood pressure. If taken long enough it causes the inside of your nose to erode which leads to sinus infections, nose bleeds etc. It also causes insomnia, psychosis, weight loss, hallucinations, and sensations of insects crawling under your skin.
I have never used this drug. I know about this drug because my office mate teaches our anti drug and alcohol policies and talks about the major drugs.
I understand about drug use and jobs. The company I work for conducts random drug testing of anyone who comes on the job site, including our vendor contractors.
Sheepy you worked way to hard to get your job to screw it up. Its not easy to say no when people are pressuring you, but you stuck to what you think is right. Good for you.
Imagination is more important than knowledge. Albert Einstein
The stuff is already here, I just find a different way to use it. MacGyver
