Joel died 4/29 from cancer. He was 54. Longtime composer for all of the RDA Stargate series.
He was also a fine film composer. He was the son of famed composer Jerry Goldsmith.. I will miss Joel both for his friendship and music.

Besides that he was Jerry Goldsmith's son, composed SG-1 and I also think the movie Man's Best Friend with Lance Henriksen, no.

It's sad that a man so young and so talented has died. But his music will live on. I think I'll go watch all Stargate SG1 seasons again, this time for the music.

By the way, nice stories, mrtape.

Joel can be seen as poker player #4 in the Stargate Atlantis series "Vegas" episode. Oddly this episode was on a Dish channel the monday after he passed away. He has no lines but is visible several times during the scene. He was shy and reticent and didn't like to conduct delegating the job to others. Most of his music was recorded in the Pacific Northwest. Be sure to visit his freeclyde website and see the studio he built at his home. Helluva guy.
