I was just channel surfing and spotted Kristian Alfonso on the Jeff Probst show. They were doing a Days of Our Lives special which Kristian stars in.

Got some interesting background info on her.

As a kid she did dancing and figure skating and even won a gold medal in the Junior Olympic Figure Skating Championships.

The story as she told it was that she was quite sick and as a result skating badly - spending more time on her butt than on her skates - but she wanted to do the last competition, in which she skated perfectly in. But when she finished and looked over at her family they had already gone out to wait in the car thinking that Kristian would be feeling horrible and just wanting to go home, unknown to them, she had just won the gold medal so they missed out on seeing her win and receive it.

Shortly after that she had a bad tobogganing accident and had to give up skating, which is what moved her into acting.

I've seen her once or twice in Days of our Lives. She's still pretty as ever.

While in college I interned at the NBC Studios in Burbank, CA (where "Days of Our Lives" is filmed) and I remember passing her once in the hall. It was a cardinal no-no to ask the celebrities for their autographs or pictures, afterall we were all there to do a job, so when I saw her I didn't even have the nerve to say hello. I wasn't that far into the internship and didn't want to step out of line. In hindsight, I could have, should have at least said, "Hi". Oh well, live and learn.

On "Days of Our Lives" she plays Hope Brady. Does any one know what her character's nickname was, what character gave it to her and why?
