I'm trying to warm up to the new series, and give it my full support. Surely CBS will have hats, T-shirts, Cereal, soda, etc to help market the new show.
I think it could be a good idea if collectively, we made a list of every piece of associated merchandise as it comes available. This could be fun for collectors, and if/when the show becomes a mega hit, fans will have a list of everything Macgyver 2016 related.

Honestly hoping for a stealth video game in the vein of the original splinter cell
I don't think there has even been a console game based on a TV show has there?
Video console games like that are mega expensive to make. They're around the same cost as making a big budget movie. That's why the official MacGyver game was released on mobile platforms rather than console. I still the whole idea of MacGyver lends itself nicely to a First person type video game if done properly though.

I'm not sure how relevant this would be to this topic, but there's some "official" MacGyver merchandise on Cafe Press. It's a pretty big selection of items too from the original. I dunno how official it really is, though it claims to be official from CBS/TVCity.
I didn't know if anyone else knew about it. I just found it recently and kinda went... "huh..."

Cafe Press is a bit of a tip off that it's probably NOT official, but I have to agree that there's some cool stuff on there. I may have to pick up a few items myself.

Well, 24 has a game on PS2. The Shield had a PC-game and Game of Thrones has their own six episode adventure on PS3 and 4.
So yeah, they exist but not so much. If they ever do a MacGyver game I hope it's third person. I like to see my character.
I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you. It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

Ah cool. I didn't know GOT had a game... makes sense I suppose, it seems to be the biggest show in the world at the moment.
I think Third person would be awesome. It's the best of both worlds really, you get to see your character on screen but then can zoom into first person if/when needed.
I'd actually love something done like Assassins Creed - love love LOVE those games!

Actually there have been quite a few video games released based on TV shows. Even upon the last 10-15 years.
Desperate Housewives Ghost Whisperer Grey's Anatomy Criminal Minds Walking Dead Lost Murder She Wrote (Old show but recent game) CSI NCIS Knight Rider 1&2 (For PC & PS2)

What I would really love was a blu-ray release of MacGyver and KnightRider, with lots of new extras. Older shows have received that transfer, why not two of the most famous tv series of the 80's?

Not sure about the others, but I know Knight Rider was filmed and edited on film which gave them the clean film prints for DVD and then Blu Ray.
MacGyver on the other hand was shot on film but then transferred to video for easy editing so the master copies are video instead of film which can't be upgraded to HD and is also why the early DVD episodes don't look so great.
I gather this would mean making a Blu Ray version would required all the episodes to be recreated from the film masters which is a hell of a job, imagine having to go through and match ever single edit, shot, angle etc to be exactly as it is now.
So the best we could ever hope for would be that they clean up the images (which from what I understand is very labor intensive work) and give us out-takes and behind the scenes stuff.

I've just received the dark blue hoodie with the Phoenix logo - absolute S**T!!!
It looks like a really bad home made job printed with empty ink cartridges.
I wouldn't recommend their stuff to anyone
Also be warned that the hoodies have narrow arms so feel very tight fitting even though I got a size large! the material is also quite thin, so not very warm either.
I'm absolutely disgusted with the very poor overall quality of the whole product so don't waste your money there.

I've spent all week-end rebuilding our online store. Still only about half way through, but we now have some official merchandise listed there and can easily add a new category for any reboot stuff if needed.
Let's hope CBS bring out a whole heap of MacGyver-related stuff, over the coming months and years. Can't wait!
Your hard work, is gratefully appreciated. Thank you!
Kiwitek, Could I ask? Would it be possible for you to include a video file attachment (or the ability to embed a YouTube video link) within a post message? For example- if a new MacGyver promo arrived we could attach or embed the video link within our posts, and the video would appear in our messages, so as other members could view that video from within the message post?

It's just a matter of copy and paste the embed code from youtube. The above link shows you where to find it. You can also click the "Add video" button if you're using the post/edit screen which will also take you to the instructions on how to do it.
I thought the episode (strictly business) were Murdoc pretends to be MacGyver, so funny.
It was by far the best, Murdoc v MacGyver showdown episode. Although I felt what let the episode down was giving MacGyver amnesia, hated that part. It was unnecessary!

Out of everything in the episode the line is what I remember most!! I'll have to go back and watch it soon
