Well, the weekend has already passed but I've been to the Graspop Metal Meeting again this year. Came back with a tan too. The festival was great as usual and despite a little drizzle it was warm and dry for nearly the whole festival. Two years ago it was a mudpit. I've seen some great bands as well. Lots of the more familiar bands like Guns 'N Roses (who played for 3,5 hours), Iron Maiden, Powerwolf, Limp Bizkit, Hollywood Vampires with Johnny Depp and finally Black Sabbath with Ozzy Osbourne. Apparently Marilyn Manson was there too but I didn't know the entire programme. There was also a singer called Doro Pesch who used to sing in the band Warlock which is now dubbed as Queen of Heavy Metal. She actually reminded me of Big Mama to be honest.

Yeah and heavy too. Moshing in the moshpit or helping crowd surfers to get to the front. I think that's why they call it heavy metal.

I know how it feels. Ever since I came back from the festival, I've been having a bit of sore throat. Same thing happened to me two years ago when the field was a mudpit. This year I came back with a tan, it was sold out. 200.000 people were there, sweating, drinking, yelling. I'm don't feel like a basket case, I'm up and around but it's just this tickle in the back of my throat and bit of cough. I hope it's over by the end of the week.

You too, man. I hear a lot of people are sick lately. I guess there must be some sort of virus going around.

We are in the middle of a heat-wave in the UK. In East Anglia where I live we have had no rain since the beginning of May and the temperature has been regularly 25C-30C which for the UK qualifies as hot-v. hot. In other places in the UK we have had heathland and moorland fires which have been bigger than any we've had before and have been very difficult to put out (OK, they aren't on the scale of Australia or California - but we aren't used to dealing with them). We now have hosepipe bans and fields are looking parched - our livestock have very little grazing left - we have a small enough number and it isn't a commercial concern and we can use packaged feed, but it will be difficult for livestock farmers at the moment. The national potato crop is in question - a cold spring, huge amounts of rainfall when they didn't need it and now a drought is making the potatoes very small. We are getting visions of a famous drought in 1976 at the moment.
In all this heat I am trying to replace our 30 year old and falling down fencing. Putting up fencing from scratch is easy - the time consuming and difficult bit is removing the old fencing which has all kind gown downward into the grass, brambles and thistles and top layers of soil - not helped by ant's which move huge quantities of soil up and around the wire and posts. The big problem is I want to get the job done, but lately it has really been too hot to work for any length of time as there is no shelter from the sun in most areas - it is therefore taking a lot longer than it should. Anyhow that's what I'm set to do this weekend if I can - more fencing.

It's hot and humid here as well. It's supposed to be 95F here today.
I attempted to wash my car yesterday, and got about a third of it done before I gave up and went inside. That was early in the morning too. I'm very susceptible to heat and can easily get heat stroke, so I always have to be careful in the summertime.
Temp is supposed to drop on Saturday to 81F, so I'm hoping if I get out early enough I can get the rest of my car finished.
Hey denizen! Wanna trade climates? XD

Great idea Dragondog! I hope to weather this heatwave out too, plus the rain that's been going with it. No matter what, have a great weekend everybody!

I'll be trying to watch some stuff this weekend. We got the first Ant-Man movie and a release of Big Hero 6: The Series on dvd, so I'll try to watch some of that over the weekend.
Also, for some reason, I promised some friends I would try watching Miraculous: Tales of Ladybug and Cat Noir as well. Please don't judge me, lol.

Trust me Jedi, you can certainly have some of this cold. As for heatwaves? In Africa we get 104 degrees fahrenheit.
Usually around 80F is too hot for me. But, where I grew up was heavily polluted, so we'd break 100F every now and again. It was pretty rare though.
Fall is certainly my favorite season. I'm looking forward to the day I can open my windows again. XD
My poor power bill.... ;_;
No plans for me this weekend. My sister came over yesterday. We had to talk about some stuff. I have to job hunt for a second job on the weekends, so if I manage to get a good one, I won't be around much... =P
Thus is life... XD

Thanks denizen! There is a reason behind it, but it's nothing bad. I don't want to go into too much detail since nothing is currently set in stone. I just need to be financially stable and prepared in the next two-three years. That means, hunkering down and adulting this life. XD

Over on the HTTYD chat forums, we're having an art contest based on the third movie coming out. This is what I drew over the weekend. Not the greatest, but, whatever.

Still hot here - yesterday we were up to 30+C. Now into nearly 50 days without rain where I live - we did have a very wet winter which has got us this far, but hose pipe bans are starting to come in over parts of the country affecting 7 million people from August 5th. Rivers are now drying, fish are needing to be rescued it's starting to get rather iffy - not quite 1976 yet, but its getting there.

Since she's referring to the summer of 1976, I'd say Belgium. And there's been a heatwave here going on since almost a month now. As matter of fact, we're having a great summer here. They're usually very rainy here. It's either too hot, too cold, too humid, too wet, too dry. I think that's the problem when you live in the middle of Western Europe. I like my summers bright and hot and my winters dark and cold. For now, I hope this weather holds on for a while. I know it's baking and broiling and also that can make people annoying but we might as well enjoy it while it lasts. I also have the feeling this weather won't be over soon yet.
