Yeah, I never really thought about that. What's ridiculous is not just in this episode, but in so many others he was just "grazed." Over and over, and that's assuming trained soldiers at point blank range didn't miss him all together. I would love to start a thread and make a list of how many times MacGyver was shot at from close enough to have EASILY been hit, and was yet missed.

Yet another hole in a poorly conceived story.

Does anyone know who the pictures are in Mac's photo album? The one that he has open when he and Sam are talking.I love that seen.

They're him and Sam's mother.

Sorry I should explain better. The one I'm talking about are the pics before you see the ones of Mac and Kate.The seen where Mac is at his house and he and Sam are talking and Mac has his photo album out and is looking through it. There is a Picture in there that looks like his dad or grandfather. I was wonder if anyone knew who they where of.

I'm guessing they're meant to be his parents, but as I said, it's only a guess. I really don't know who they are.

I Would bet you that the one pic of the guy waring the cowboy hate is of RDA from Seven Brides TV show. There others maybe of his parents but what's up with the box photo.

Mac gets shot in the shoulder. I thought he grabbed his chest (near the shoulder) before he fell? That tells me it wasn't a graze. And if it was a graze, why isn't his jacket damaged?

When Sam is cutting through that red stick thing (I think its the thing they put in the pipe to make the smoke) if you watch, you see him start to cut, but he doesn't even get halfway before the thing just slices right through. I think it was first cut from the other end to make it quicker.

I suppose...
I guess I like a little more continuity than that!

And just for the record: Mac spends the rest of the episode jumping around very well indeed for someone who's just broken their arm (or been shot, your choice!). Trust me, I know!
Let's face it - this is one injury RDA should know all about

At the very end of the episode right after Mac hugs Pete Goodbye RDA steps back to deliver a line and there is a PERFECT reflection of the camera and dolly in the mirrored sunglasses hanging from RDAs tshirt.

When Sam explains his real name is Sean and Sam is a nickname, MacGyver guesses the A stands for Angus to which Sam replies, Kate loved it and MacGyver says he knows. This would actually mean MacGyver has known his first name all along. Unless it was just a name and it just happens to be his name too but otherwise why would she give her son MacGyver's first name as a middle name?

Of course he knows his first name!!!

How could someone go through life not knowing their own name?!?

I was simply pointing it out. Yes, the first name comment of Lulu comes to mind but Mr. Newberry said he didn't find a first name. That's in conflict with each other. Just all the more far-fetched Good Knight MacGyver seems, even though it was only dream. MacGyver was told Iain's son and himself had the same first name and that he will never know after Iain died. So he didn't know his own first name. Technically he found out his first name through a dream. In this episode it appears he would've known it all along.

I just watched that scene now and there's no comment about "never knowing after Ian died." In fact the exact opposite - Malcolm actually states that the 6th century Ian MaIvor's son shared Mac's first name as well.

Newberry probably didn't have Mac's first name on anything because out of respect for the fact that MacGyver hated it, Harry didn't disclose it to him. That way Newberry would address him as Mr. MacGyver.
