An international crime boss offers Matty a deal she can’t refuse – he’ll surrender himself into her custody if he’s allowed to return to the United States to watch his daughter walk down the aisle. MacGyver and team crash the wedding to ensure the crime lord doesn’t run, only to discover they’re not the only ones lying in wait at the event.

My general consensus:

Pretty good team episode. Fits for Jack's last mission

And the only "B storyline" was Jack's departure, so it works

Honestly, I do not handle goodbyes well at all, but I didn't even tear up this time

I was disappointed at first that Jack only got super personal with three of them, and only hugged two, but actually, it makes sense.

Matty's not a hugger, or very emotional, so her line, "Come back to us, Jack. That's an order" was pretty meaningful.

Bozer and Jack... Yeah, it fit fine. Never had any complaints.

Jack and Riley was perfect - they're like father and daughter, so hi getting worked up about how much he loves her and will miss her, as well as the promise of pizza and skeeball as soon as he comes back just fit perfectly.

And as for Mac... Well, that was my other complaint at first. But considering how close they are, I think it would've been too painful for them to have a long, drawn-out scene or hug. To just have a few meaningful words, and leave it at that, they probably felt more like it was a temporary goodbye, instead of this huge "I'll never see you again, but I'll never forget you" farewell. Jack and Riley's goodbye already left some wounds festering.

I would've liked a little more detail on how they got Matty blindfolded and in the car. Did she agree? Or did they drug and kidnap her?

Pretty good episode.

Will need to re-watch it since my feed got interrupted a few times so I missed some bits.

Thought it was weird that Jack didn't hug Mac or Matty when he said goodbye... very out of character and doesn't really sit right with how close they were for the last 3 seasons.

Exciting episode. Love Mac and Riley together.

Sad but a lot of humor, too. Love that about this show.

At first, I was surprised no final hug with Mac. Then I thought of the opening scene. Mac is the only one Jack spoke to privately. I'm sure they had a long heart-to-heart so the handshake (like season 2 ghost episode) makes sense. tho I admit I would have loved seeing more development in the apartment.

I'm not happy about Mac's new overwatch being a hard-a$$ed woman. the producers have been determined to add one. but we already have Matty and Riley. it's just not the same.

Matty's not exactly a field agent, but Riley and Leanna are. So I'm curious if Leanna will stay a recurring or if she's gone soon.

I guess they felt safer to add a woman because everyone would compare a guy to Jack. But the dynamics is really going to change again and I wonder if they will send now Bozer onto every mission as well so that Mac isn't the only guy in the team?

I think the different smaller teams on missions are more interesting if they can switch and swap between different gender combinations. But we'll see.

Kudos to Tristin running around in those heels but it looked a bit akward at times and unpractical. I kinda expected Riley to finally whip out some ballerinas out of her purse... seems more practical to me if you're an agent and need to keep running

The hashtag #MacGyver wasn't trending US-wide but there was still a high amount of tweets using it - I think it's actually a new record this season; it's usually stays below 800.

Dang, I had some catching up to do. lol

I kinda had a feeling of who the killer was, and I was right! BWAHAHAHAHA!!

I also loved the moments between Mac/Riley.

I'm not overly sad of Jack's departure. I'm interested in seeing who is gonna be his replacement. I haven't really been paying much attention as I've had offline stuff I've been dealing with, so... I'm a bit behind. lol

Over all, entertaining episode. Jack at the buffet was hilarious. I kept thinking to myself... stop eating and do your job, you dummy!

Nothing against the actress, but I am also concerned about adding a new character that is female. Some comments seem to indicate many fans are concerned she will put Riley and other members to the back and be a love interest for Mac.

Personally, I don't like either of these options. The growth of all the characters this season have been great and I would hate to see Riley especially pushed to the back.

My fingers are crossed, the writers will not make the same mistakes as they did with Cage.

I think Jack's comment about you will either love her or hate her didn't do much to reassure fans.

Maybe this is until they figure out a bromance replacement?

Funny thing, everyone was worried about Cage being a love interest for Mac and then nothing happened.

Personally, I don't mind Mac having a love interest, BUT...
... I want them to resolve the situation with Nasha first. They are taking a break but I still think it's not really solved yet. Them just mentioning her again doesn't make her go away . Mac broke off with her after Murdoc, but theoreticall he's back in custody now so he could have resumed the relationship if he really wanted.
... I'm not fond of love interests within the team and judging by 9 Seasons of Hawaii Five-0 it's also not Lenkov's style. I really don't want him to go there because that's what I really think messed up the charm of "Scorpion". The 3rd season is mostly love drama and the missions are not only shorter, but riddled with these love triangle problems as well. I think shows like "Bones" handled that a lot better but it's easier if they don't even go there. We already have one couple in the team with potential upcoming drama (Bozer + Leanna).
... They seemed to recognize people shipping Mac and Riley (either as couple or as sibling chemistry) and teaming them up more often. I'd hate the writers to make a possible love triangle drama out of this (e.g. Riley having feelings for Mac and then being jealous or unhappy if he starts dating the new girl).

So I'd rather see him getting back with Nasha (and her moving to LA) or finding love outside the team. Also, the writers don't seem to do that well when it comes to giving their recurring female characters some "meat". Both Cage and Leanna stayed surprisingly "bland", despite having 12 episodes each so far.

I hope so tho a bromance needs to develop. Even Jack wanted to kick Mac's skinny a$$ for some months after meeting

I'm curious about the new recruit. Mac is unique and quirky and even Matty had trouble at first accepting him for who he is. Bound to be conflict. She's the one who'll probably want to kill him

Btw anyone else notice Mac wearing the same clothes after missing game night? So he spent the night with Jack? Hmmmm
(maybe the crew never realized but we fans notice these things )

For some reason, I expected this to be a dud episode, but I watched it just now, and was pleasantly surprised. The action was pretty intense, and it was another episode with just one storyline, which is always a good thing. Also, I have to give credit to the writers for still coming up with plenty of MacGyverisms per episode. The original series eventually got a bit lazy with them.

The Reboot didn't loose much and got to keep the 0.8 demo. The viewers-number for "Blue Bloods" is pretty impressive, though.

Glad it kept the 8 and I hope that continues. I hope for a 9! Blue Bloods gets lots of viewers but it really doesn't have much competition. Nevertheless, a great draw.

And another good one and final one with George Eads. Yet I see a potential story in his reason to leave. Who knows it might make a decent series finale or that he would come back to help the team.

An interesting storyline that had me going (I also thought it was the daughter) but also and actually a great nod to Die Hard. Interesting to see Jack Dalton's final mission is in fact a Die Hard based scenario. People at a party are held hostage, the terrorists are looking for the main boss in order to kill him and then run loose in the building.

Do you stuff your mouth like that and take something else before you had swallowed? Does that include talking with your mouth full?

I do have to say: Jack looked funny when he was crunching the food down with his cheeks stuffed.

And why would do that? I think Charlie would've made a great replacement for Jack to protect Mac as I said before.

I know it's kind of dumb to respond on a year old posts, but we're always a year behind. By the time season 5 (if made) is aired, season 4 will be aired over here.

I don't think she's a ballerinas sort of person. I think she either whips up a couple of boots or maybe allstars from her purse. Something that just wouldn't fit the dress but she simply don't care.

Looks like Riley lies good in the market, unfortunately guys, this girl's taken, not to mention at work.

I did felt sad though why I saw Jack leaving. I was like: "Jack!" So I think I will miss the old grumpy bear. In general there was nothing wrong with Jack but it all kind of depended on how he was written. In the beginning Jack was around Mac the whole time, like he couldn't give Mac the space he sometimes desperately needed. Couldn't turn your back or Jack popped up. Then you have these episodes like 3x09 where he behaves like an irritating child or is either very superstitious it becomes annoying. And there were episodes like this one where he shows he's actually as good as he says he is. He should've been like that the whole time, it would've been easier to appreciate the reboot I guess.

Almost forgot: Mac made a figure with paperclips again. His first in like forever.
