Is there anyone with windows 7 already?

We got a license from Mom's work. Apparently (i don't work there so I have no idea what's going on), the company have this "huge" contract with Microsoft that allows them to buy a lot of licenses so that if the employees take work to their homes they are allowed to buy a license for their home computers for a fraction of the stores "price". Mom wanted to install Windows 7 in the laptop she uses for work and she bought one license.

The cd seems legal. I mean, metallic surface of the face of the cd with the name of windows and microsoft and all that jazz (I checked, it's not a label that can be pulled off. I tried >__< and almost ruined the thing. Mom was gonna kick my butt).

So we installed, wrote down the license, activate the thing. Seems fine and dandy.

But then, I wanted to see the system information and I found this on the botton of the page!! blink.gif

It's this normal?!! It's wrong?! I need to know, 'cause if it's NOT suppose to be there I'm gonna disinstall and tell mom to return that disk to her boss!!!!
*extremely paranoid mode*
Please, some help here?? Thanks in advance.

It's an advert.

They're advertising their store in the hopes that people will buy genuine software instead of pirated stuff.

I bet if you click it, it'll open up the Microsoft online store.

Yes, it opens the "store" within a page that supposedly shoes how "good" some of the "fake" disks have gotten.

So... does it means that mom's disk is legal or that her boss told her lies and took her money to gave her a pirated copy of the software?!

Ack, I hate being not the smartest crayon in the box >__<

It's fine. They're just trying to increase peoples awareness.

I honestly don't think your moms boss would be working there for very long if he's ripping off Microsoft software.
