Three things:

1. The Teen Titans references roller.gif (I've never seen it...)

2. Bozer's actually pretty good in the War room.

3. "Dalton's Heroes" sounds like the name of a spin-off show laugh.gif

We got to see some of Jack's backstory. That's good.

Jill's definitely dead *sobs* just when I was starting to actually like her...

Mac came back a bit soon, but given that is was Murdoc, I can understand.

Matty's emotions at the beginning. And Jack's crying in the flashback...

Jack lost his phone. On his own. I thought it'd come back up as an important plot point, ie random-memeber-of-Dalton's-Heroes-stole-it-because-he's-secretly-bad trope.

Riley and Leanna have better chemistry than Riley and Cage did.

Tonight's episode actually felt like a spin off to me. It had a lot more violence then we've seen in any other MacGyver episode (past or present) I think.

Sad start to the episode. Will miss Jill.

Mac is back to find Murdoc - so instead of looking for MacDaddy this season it's looking for Murdoc?

Dalton's Heroes.

Riley and Leanna are great together. More of that please.

Too much violence. That's not what MacGyver is about.

Hm. I liked last week's episode better; but I think I need to watch it again to make a decision about it.

These 2 storylines didn't go that well together. I prefer episodes with a single storyline anyway, but usually when they have parallel stories they fit better. Also, this time the B-storyline didn't interest me at all, so that didn't help. I thought it was good to see Bozer in the lab and stick to his roots of "costumes", but I felt they just made this one up on the spot to get these characters something to do and to put the girls in sexy dresses.

I'd preferred to get to know more about Jack's Delta Team and Jack dealing with the aftermath of his tour; they cast some very interesting actors that had good chemistry with each other and I'm assuming we won't see them again, sadly. As so often, they crammed too much stuff in there.

I remember an early interview with George, taken during the filming of 1x05, saying that his character had PTSD. And I always thought he must have been talking about Lincoln in the Unaired Pilot, not Jack. It's nice they did adress it for once, even if it was a bit out of the blue.

Are they going in a different direction? I feel like both episodes of Season 3 are more violent and darker than usual; even though we didn't see much blood or dead bodies. I don't mind it on other shows, but I'm not sure yet if I want to see that here... or if that might put viewers off. This had always the tone of a family-friendly show, and more action doesn't need more violence.

They have a new Executive Producer and a new Stunt Team, so maybe that will be the darker tone for this season.

Preliminary Ratings via Showbuzz: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/the-...-10-5-2018.html

It lost a bit in audience compared to last week, but got to Keep the demo. The numbers feel low, but overall there's quite a drop for all Shows when compared to last year.

Interestingly, "Last Man Standing" lost quite a bit from last week's demo (1.8) and audience numbers (>8 Million), while MacGyver stayed very stable (last week was 0.7 demo, 5.771 Million viewers in the final Ratings). Both LSM and MacGyver might lose more numbers as soon as Blindspot starts airing again, but if the Reboot keeps up the Quality or maybe even can turns it up a notch storyline-wise and with interesting guest-stars, it might actually win the 8pm timeslot in audience again.

Not really the most entertaining episode. I got kinda bored with it, unfortunately.

Though, a couple of things... the blowing up of the train tracks reminded me a little bit of Slow Death. lol

Glad to see Matty not being rude, but instead showing a more compassionate, emotional side. I like this caring Matty MUCH better.

Also, on Jill's death...

It is pretty sad that they decided to kill her off. I was hoping she was just injured. I know it's not likely for her to be alive, after 13 Seasons of Supernatural... nothing would surprise me at this point. lol

I think so, too - but her suddenly caring about Jill so much is a bit ridiculous; considering the way she treated her before. It was just a convenient way to enhance the emotional stakes that weren't there before since they kinda didn't have any other character they could conveniently kill off.

Killing off one of the main characters was a no; killing off MacDaddy would have been too early (might work better for a Season Finale). They obviously didn't want to kill off Leanna, either... though I'll say Nasha could be next.

Yeah, this is kinda where I'm at with this one. The B-story was so incredibly pointless to begin with and then wasn't terribly enthralling either. A double whammy. I was definitely into the Dalton's Heroes plot, but unfortunately it wasn't given much time to breathe.

Pacing was well off here, and what should have been a good story-line suffered a bit for it.

Final Ratings via Showbuzz Daily: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/show...-10-5-2018.html

The demo rating held up and only marginal losses in audience. Still, I think it's weird that the other shows always gain from preliminary to final ratinsg while MacGyver looses some hmm.bmp

Overall, this is the episode whith the lowest audience number so far, but it's kinda following the S2 ratings - those kept dropping and hovering low before picking up again around Episode 2x06.

I agree on one thing though: Dalton Heroes does sound like a tv-show and it would've been a great title for the episode.

Back on Jill: I do find it quite hard to believe that she would be dead. She's startled, she crashes and she's dead while Murdoc walks away. Considering the accident, I would saw she hit her head against the steering wheel but bad enough to break her neck. I think she could've made it out alive with a massive concussion but dead...? Woe is you, Murdoc.

In all this episode does indeed feel a little cramped up with two storylines and sorry but if it isn't Mac's mission, they might as well not do it all. Bozer still is annoying especially with that high voice of his. I think Riley should be the leader out of them three.

The main storyline was of course better, loved how the team took Mac inside.

And I don't think it's too violent or too dark. It just looks that way because Mac and Jack are outnumbered most of the time. More people on screen fighting then just a one-on-one fight with both characters have four moves each. Then again as Luke said it is argued that the majority always wins over the minority and they won a two against five or six battle.

You know in the first ten episodes of the original there are 7 fights? Mac against Narai in the Golden Triangle, the soldiers in The Gauntlet, the casino fight in The Heist, the struggle with Trumbo, the fights with Buddy in Last Stand, Bill in Hellfire and Axminster in Target MacGyver. Those are already 7 fights within ten episodes and we're not even halfway the season. Not violent? Glass even used a chainsaw to go after Mac in Log Jam. The second chainsaw we saw in six episodes in the same season. A chainsaw in a family-friendly series?

Our Mac did his share of fighting and mostly starting them himself by jumping on top of them.

I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
