Season 1 had 21 episodes, with 20 episodes being named after a tool on the SAK.

PRE-FINALE:
In “UFO + Area 51” (airing April 27), Mac and Riley are called upon to examine a mysterious object that crash-landed in the Nevada desert — which as you can imagine leaves Jack, a “believer,” champing at the bit to get involved. “That’s the fun of the episode, that they get to go there and he doesn’t,” says showrunner Peter M. Lenkov (though we have a hunch that Jack will find a way). On the less-fun side of things, Riley uncovers “another piece of the puzzle” that is Mac’s father, which steers us directly into….


SEASON FINALE (MAY 4):
“The information that Riley shares with Mac is literally the first scene of the finale,” says Lenkov. And as it is processed, Mac has cause “to question some of the people he works with, and question some truths” — to the point that he just might turn in his Swiss Army knife. Tate Donovan (Damages) guest-stars as Oversight, a man who has history with Matty, Reign Edwards returns as Leanna, and Billy Baldwin’s Elwood shows up to grill Riley’s secret beau — bounty hunter Billy Colton.

Does anyone else think this goes beyond Matty, and that maybe Jack might even be involved. I wonder sometimes if his re-upping in Afghanistan might turn out to be some kind of CIA mission to watch over Mac. I really hope that isn't true, but we already know he suspects Mattty so I'm not sure why Riley would be hesitant to share the information with him. I hope they aren't going to create a rift between Mac and Jack, and maybe it is my writer's brain, but I can't help but to wonder at the Swiss Army knife, and why they had Mac lose it in a bizarre way and then Jack give him another one unless they planned to use that again at some point. Maybe I'm just reading too much into it and giving the writers more credit than they deserve.

And I say this every time, but I NEVER enjoy the episodes that Nancy Kiu has her fingers on. I know, I know...she's an executive producer, but when she writes it is never enjoyable for me. Sigh...

I wonder sometimes how much is actually the credited writer's own original idea and how much was "planted" via the other writers, the producers and the network.

I remember Lucas' remark in an older interview how in the first half of S1, he got notes from the studio all the time. CBS sure wanted to influence the scripts, the acting, the lined-up cast from the get-go. I wonder if that's the reason there are so many producers on the team. I think for a TV show, it's a lot of people higher up the chain. Never made much sense to me.

Hm. I don't think Jack is involved in this; though of course you could argue Jack urged to go look for his dad so he would find out the truth.

The reactions in earlier episodes just don't match and it would have been an afterthought by the writers.

Here's the Season Finale Teaser Trailer. It's possible there will be more promo for the finale; similarly to last year (e.g. interviews or TV appearances); haven't heard anything yet though.

Despite not being invited to be back on Season 3, Stunt Coordinator Jeff Wolfe handed in another Stunt reel for the Emmy Awards.

Last year, the show got it's one and only Primetime Emmy Nomination for Stunts (Outstanding Stunt Coordination for a Drama Series, Limited Series or Movie), so I'm kinda hoping it gets another one this year.

Certainly some good action in there.

Hopefully good enough to win.
