I dreaded the episode a bit; considering Lenkov wrote it tongue.gif .

But I was surprised about how much I actually liked it in the end.

Missed a bunch in the middle due to the station blowing out here for whatever reason

I liked this one a lot too. I'll post my observations later. sakopen.gif

OK, here we go.

-Interesting to note that actress Aimee Mullins has two prosthetic limbs, but for the sake of the script her right leg is treated as being normal. Although her character apparently has a spare right prosthetic just in case... laugh.gif

-Actually you are dealing with the Geek Squad...just not that Geek Squad (Best Buy's tech support, for those not familiar).

-The photo enhancement technology seems a bit hokey.

-Viro-486 seems even worse than well, you know, that other one. *gestures with head*

-Pet peeve: When character names (usually of the inevitably foreign baddies) don't match country of origin. OG MacGyver often had the same issue. This time it's Hannibal Teague, a German with a Phoenician first name and an Irish second. I can buy Hannibal, it has some historic sticking power...perhaps dad was an Irish sailor who went up the Elbe to Hamburg often? biggrin.gif

-The training scene for the laser security doesn't look like it was too much fun for Levy.

-Hey! Some nice little character backstory for Desi. I laughed. As I did with the "I think you just lost your chances of ever dating that woman" line.

-Actually none of these training scenes look like much fun.

-Wait, you mean they won't have the full two weeks? That never happens!

-The "In The Air Tonight" cover...not sure if I like it's use or if it's too distracting. Kinda wavering on that one.

-Annnnnnndddd all that training for nothing.

-"There is no back gate." Oh ye of little faith, Angus.

-This is the first time in TV history that a Frenchman was carrying a grocery bag and there wasn't a loaf of French bread sticking out of it. roller.gif

-CDG to Sheremetyevo is closer to a four-hour flight there, Mac...and who's picking up the forged Rembrandt in Brussels? This is a real tight window for our heroes. huh.gif

-Teague to The Hague!

-Between Fletcher and Jess here, using schoolteacher as a cover for more sinister things seems very popular in the Mac universe. Also some similarities to Charlotte Cole for Jess (to say nothing of both their stories ending up in Russia!).

-I like this Jess character, wouldn't mind seeing a return a la Dawn some time down the line.

-Overall, this was a more engaging story than the season premiere and all parts were well-acted. The pacing was good, and they avoided the pratfalls of trying to give all team members equal screen time which is always a benefit to the show, IMO.

My favorite was a fully customized realistic replica of a cop car, just waiting for them to unwrap already in the country
