CSI co-star George Eads is returning to CBS and CBS TV Studios with a role in their pilot MacGyver, a reimagining of the 1985 james wan colorseries.

Eads is the first actor cast in MacGyver and will play Lincoln.

Is this guy supposed to be 55 years old?



I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver.
Sometimes you just have to die a little inside to be reborn and rise again as a stronger and wiser version of you.
It's better to be a little sad than to be fake content.

I like George Eads. He's a good actor. He might just fit into this Lincoln role.

At the same time, I understand how everyone feels. All of the people that frequent this site are huge MacGyver fans and know the character's bio in and out. We do not all necessarily possess the skills to write a proper script but we know which direction to take it.

Then you get people like James Wan, big time Hollywood producer / director who claims to be a big fan of MacGyver yet know next to nothing about the characters past and they decide to avoid particulars by announcing this to be a "re-imagining".

Re-imaginings are often a recipe for failed attempts. But as MacGyver12186 put it, I too, will give it the pilot episode.

I guess in some way, the new series is, in a big stretch, like Season 1 with DXS. I'm still trying to work this out, with the characters, on how it's going to piece together. Like I've said before, I'd love a new series, but the chemistry on this is still waaaay too jumbled to get a feeling on it yet.

it also is interesting to see how Long Lincoln will be in the show initially (based on the character descriptions) I had assumed pilot only but now I don't know


Well this is really happening people now all eyes are on who is playing MacGyver

Like I said Henry Winkler was behind the casting of RDA and Jared Paladacki and both I thought were great I have a feeling (ok I am hoping and praying) that Winkler might hit it off again a third time.

my guess is we will know who is playing mac soon... Should we take it as a good sign or a bad sign that another role was cast before MacGyver...

it could be a good sign as they are trying to find the right actor...

Maybe we can find out when RDA was cast. Considering the story about his audition and asking for his glasses, it always gave me the feeling production was well under way by the time he was cast.

my guesws based on everything we know is the last week in march

28th-April1st

is when Filming is going to begin so really any time between now and then is game for us to find out who the new MacGyver is.

The re-boot.. would prefer RDA in the "Pete-type" role as an older Mac... if they HAVE to do this thing...
