For the last couple months, I've been remodeling my kitchen. I mean this is an entire remodel; everything is new: floor, electrical and and plumbing in a new wall, appliances, cabinets, counter, etc...

Now, provided that this is a remodel, we're doing small hacks here and there, which could be mac-isms. However, this last one was good.

It deals with taking the microwave plate off of the wall. Normally, the plate is fastened to at least one stud with some lag screws and then a couple toggle bolts where ever there is only drywall. From my experience, if you have a toggle bolt in the wall there is no real way to get the wing part out once it's in.

Just for fun I was determined to get it out.
First, I used some electrical wire to hook into one edge of the toggle wing. I was then able to pull it down and ducktape that side to the bolt. Then I did the same thing for the other side of the wing inside the wall. Both the bolt and wing came out flawlessly.

It was fun....I saved about 15 cents but proved it could be done....

Here's a pic my friend took. It's cool because I hadn't had a haircut in a while and it matched the Mac image near perfectly.
