She has always fancied herself as a bit of a singer dancer (She started her career as a cheerleader) so probably yes.

She did a number in a Lois & Clark episode too.

I finally decided that this is my favourite episode. MacG.gif

Congratulations on choosing a favourite episode! A good choice too, in my opinion. biggrin.gif

I remember "Cleo Rocks" from when I was a child. What a scary moment as the chair in Wintergreen's office turned around and Murdoc was sitting there. Not to mention Murdoc ripping his mask off!

It is the first episode I watched when I rediscovered MacGyver. By that time I had forgot that LaRue was Murdoc (how could I?!) and I was just as surprised as the first time I saw the episode. Good enough disguise for me. happy.gif

I think it's funny that Wintergreen Says that the only Experience Penny has is singing telegrams. That was an inside joke as he was in the episode she was working singing telegrams.

I also noticed (or clicked) for the first time tonight while watching this episode that the knife used to stab the poem to the mannequin is the one Murdoc used to attack MacGyver in the Widowmaker episode. doh.gif

Murdoc does do bonkers better than anyone biggrin.gif

I like the Penny episodes in general, because it's funny to see how Mac deals with her and how wound up he gets whenever she does something extra stupid. I like the Murdoc episodes partly because they are so far fetched. You can almost hear Mac thinking, "How do I keep ending up doing stuff this bizarre?!". So although this isn't my favourite episode, Penny and Murdoc are a winning combination for me.

This is the episode which got me more interested in dancing and performing. Seeing Penny dressed like that and the dance routine was always cool to me.

I used this as the base of one of my stage routines even today. :-)

I really enjoyed this episode, and loved Murdoc's line too, "Deep Fried Thornton or Pancake MacGyver"! I really think Murdoc is probably the classiest bad guy out there, and it seems to me that the further I follow the character the more his human qualities seem to come thru. Penny is Penny, no pretenses and what you see is what she is. I hope she gets that break someday.

I rewatched this episode today and laughed out loud the moment MacGyver turns his head very swiftly as an actress in a pretty skimpy outfit walks by when he and Penny are walking down the hall to her dressing room.

My immediate thought was "What a Jack O'Neill move" - only to realize that if MacGyver does it too, then it's probably more of an RDA move cool.jpg

I only started watching Stargate last September (up to season 10 now). There are a few episodes where Jack O'Neill does it; otherwise I probably wouldn't have noticed it in "Cleo Rocks" either. Also, he isn't always subtle about it; but I always assumed it fits the O'Neill character. Now I'm not so sure anymore biggrin.gif

Well, what's a lead star to do if you can't at least check out the extras a little bit? *lol*

Apparently, the extras aren't that much better. There's a Stargate episode where Jack O'Neill walks along a line of soldiers with suddenly a very weird expression. Turns out (according to the director on the DVD commentary) that an extra pinched Jack O'Neill in the butt (off-camera). Who has the nerve to do that? I wonder if she ever got some other role or if she was banned from the studio lot for the next few years...

Yes, there's that tiny bit in "Passages" where Mac is temporarily distracted by an extra in a tight-fitting dress. Apparently, even being dead doesn't stop him being distracted by women. laugh.gif

So true! I never noticed that before I listened to the Phoenix Foundation Podcast recently biggrin.gif

Well, if you're dead anyway, why not check out the cute female passengers *lol*. Also, MacGyver saved so many people in his earthly AND heavenly life, he definitely deserves it.

I see what you mean, although they're different things. Touching someone you don't even know when they're not aware you're going to do it is a really bad idea. They might be okay about it or it might make them really rattled and startled. Depends a lot on their previous experiences of being touched unexpectedly, as far as I can tell. I kind of hope they banned her for a while.

It's much worse than staring at someone, not that staring at people is polite.

Plus, if an extra is being used as eye-candy, they're either very oblivious to the world around them or they're aware that they have been hired to be eye-candy.

I was thinking about the episode, cannot remember its name, with the secret agents named Light and Shade. And the female secret agent was wearing black leather or latex because her cover was working in a club as a dancer or something. But in the scenes outside the club, she was wearing a really frumpy dress - and carrying a handbag. I think trousers and some kind of purse-belt would have been more practical.

I think that what I like about this episode is that Mac doesn't accidentally make Penny feel uncomfortable by remarking on the skimpiness of her outfit. He gets that it's what she has to wear for the role that is important to her in this particular stage in her career.

That's actually not too far from the truth. I have a friend use to be shell we say an "entertainment dancer" for a while and I know she went in and left work in normal clothing. She use to say "it's a job not a life style" although she does concede that there were and still are some who live it as a lifestyle.

Was that episode Jack of Spies? I might go watch it now. laugh.gif

I can't recall the name of the episode, you are probably correct.

And that's an excellent point about work clothing and ordinary clothing.

I just think this individual might have been better off wearing trousers (and not carrying a handbag) that day. Did she not realise that with Mac around, there might be a lot of running around and possibly climbing?

One more way MacGyver shows he's just a regular guy! And ladies, if Mac passed you in the hall, don't say you wouldn't check HIM out!! To use a more personal experience, my best friend in college (we're both females) could get annoying when you talked to her. We'd be talking face to face and suddenly I'd see her start looking over my shoulder. When that happened I knew she was checking out a cute guy!
