I liked the episode. Though I still feel that Russ is just another version of Jack.

I don't really understand whey they were so intent on getting Phoenix back on track so soon. Why not have them work without full clearance for a while? What was the point of the 18 months time jump if they're back to almost as it was before?

Also, I don't like that they have Desi play the bitter ex. Either get them back together or stop with the bickering; I'd prefer the bickering between Mac and Jack tongue.gif

Preliminary Ratings: http://www.showbuzzdaily.com/articles/the-sked-friday-network-scorecard-2-14-2020.html

Numbers a bit lower than last week, but the ratings are still better than for the first two episodes last season.

I'd love to discuss this episode. Unfortunately, I forgot it was even on, and tuned in a third of the way through, so I didn't pay much attention, because I didn't really understand what was happening.

So... Riley's got someone new?

I think you can watch it on CBS All Access for free for a few days after it aired?

not that it was much of a surprise tongue.gif

though when the first BtS photos of "Aubrey" appeared, I thought he might be Desi's brother.

also, considering he hasn't been seen on set for months, he might not be staying forever either. he will probably find out about Riley's real job soon if he's there for more than one or two more appearances. if he's following the TV rules, he might dump her after finding out, turn out as a villain or die. tongue.gif

He still could be. wink.gif

Or just... silently disappear... Like so many other characters...

I think so. If I have the time I might look it up, or I'll just wait until it gets released on dvd (IF that happens)

considering she literally jumped at the chance of re-joining Phoenix... she didn't even think about him or what that might mean for her relationship. and how much more difficult it will be now to keep him in the dark about her past.

guess he isn't meant to be for forever tongue.gif

That twist with Riley's boo was a nice plot twist, I didn't see it coming lol.

Tristin said there'll be another Riley centric episode this season, can't wait.

I think he'll be gone by the time Tristin's real boyfriend's episode comes in the season loll

I liked this episode. I am enjoying the trail of breadcrumbs left about this secret organization as well as the little tidbits about Mac/Desi and Riley. The Mac hacks were pretty cool and I am enjoying the Russ character more. I think he will be a great foil for Mac. The Leroy Jenkins moment was a nice touch laugh.gif

As for Mac/Desi, I am getting vibes that Mac broke it off; I really am looking forward to learning more about what happened. When talking to Riley about relationships, Mac could have added Nikki and Nasha; he really is unlucky in love sad.gif

Just one question: when trying to get the chip, Mac said only three scientists had access to it. How did Bozer know whose eyeball to snap a pic of. wink.gif I guess that's one of those 'suspend belief' moments laugh.gif

After the mission was over, Mac looked a little lost when no one could make it to his place. Hard to get back to old times. I also wonder why Riley didn't tell him about Aubrey. We know she eventually does, because his name is in the title of ep. 7 but I would think she would share with him.

All in all, I like the direction this season is taking. Can't wait til Friday.

I'm among those who really like the direction this season is going. It's all still cookie-cutter, brainless entertainment, but they seem to have a thread that will be touched on continuously for the first 13 episodes. I do worry beyond then. as I'm not sure they were expecting another nine episodes.

Any time Leroy Jenkins is referenced it's a good day.

I did wonder about how Bozer knew which scientist to target...lol.

The personal threads for each character could be good, if done right...it was nice actually hear *some* closure about Leanna, even if basically was the same as Nikki (deep-cover Op). Likely the conclusion for all is that they realize they're only meant for each other is some form, romantic or platonic, preferably more of the latter.

Is it Friday yet? tongue.gif

This was another good episode but still not a great one. Am I that much out of touch? However snatching the daughter and grandson part is a great throwback to Back From The Dead.

I really don't feel Russ being just another version of Jack at all. Jack was Mac's bodyguard/babysitter who couldn't leave him alone for two minutes. Desi took over the bodyguard part. Russ is different. He is not as gunhappy as Jack was and actually thinks of himself as quite charming yet he remains a little shady but it's downplayed a lot.

Also I have no feeling they intent on getting Phoenix back on track so soon. Maybe it's because of my two year hiatus, all together it's been three episodes only.

When it comes to the banter between Mac and Desi, I'll keep that for next episode.
