Doing a bit of internet poking around and I stumbled on this amazing site. Explains much of the history of the original Camper, plus a detailed disassembly of the watch. Very cool IMO. smile.gif

Sure thing! It's pretty cool knowing that the watch can actually be serviced to some degree. smile.gif I bought the current quartz model that was re-released a few years ago, and the larger 40mm one too. Would be cool to see Timex release another mechanical version of the watch. smile.gif

I agree! I miss wind ups.

I agree! I miss wind ups.

Hamilton (watch company) has one out this year. Hand wind mechanical 50m WR and dial looks nearly identical to the classic Camper. Price is higher, but the power reserve is around 80hrs. smile.gif They also make automatic ones that also have the classic field watch design and the WR is a 100m. Thinking of getting one of these models down the road and modding them a bit to look more like the Camper. biggrin.gif

I have one of these. 1989. Runs about 2 mins fast a day, but for something that old, not designed to be serviced, I'll take it
