I figure based on all we know when do we think the show will air..
My honest guess MacGyver being prepped for a Fall 2016 release and will be CBS big new show of the season. (it will be weird to watch football on sunday with my father in law and when they do their CBS is a great channel ad Seeing "Number 1 new Action Drama MacGyver" not going to lie it will be a little odd)
But that is just my guess so what do you all thin Could it be this Fall? or Perhaps a Mid Season Show like Lucifer was on fox (meaing the air date will be sometime January 2017) Perhaps it will be a summer show for summer 2017?
My guess is Fall based on the fact that every news item we have seen I keep seeing the words fast tracked in the article which to me mans Fall 2016 is a likely guess.

I'm thinking January 17 at the earliest if nothing is in motion yet. To be honest, I'm getting kind of excited!

Well each day this week all the other networks have been announcing the stars of their respective new shows so my guess is if CBS is serious about this then they will announce the actor sooner rather then later
Well the pilot is getting made this year but who knows if it gets picked up for a full season.
My bet would be Spring of 2017 for the premiere.
I have heard rumors that no matter what cbs will be airing the pilot now wether it gets picked up for a full season is up for debate but my hope is it will especially if they cast who I think they are going to (not Winchester I have a different name now I am thinking about\guessing) it might work.
If Mac is cast before March 30th expect the show to premier in the fall of after its a mid season pick up which is kind of a shame.

who do you think they'll pick?
"Ok hotshot, so you got yourself a golden brown palomino between your legs, and NO reins. Now what?"

News just came from Cannes that Lucas Till joins the SciFi-Movie "Spectrum" - with a production start in September. That doesn't sound too good for the engagement as the lead character in a MacGyver Reboot???

According to Deadline, CBS just cancelled "CSI Cyber"... so I guess the whole CSI Franchise is done now? Makes "MacGyver" being the replacement even more plausible.

I see he will also be one of the producers of that film. Read the news here
The immediate thing which hits me about this news is that Till doesn't sound at all committed to MacGyver. He's off looking for other projects. I hope that changes if the series is picked up. I want 100% commitment from the actors in this not just "doing a job between other jobs" type attitude.

Me too!
But I guess it may depend how many episodes the first season will have? Lots of new shows only have 10 episodes, not 20 or 22 like they used to have. If you only have to shoot "half" a season, you might want to look at other projects, too... especially if you are on the rise like Lucas Till right now with the X-Men Franchise.
Although, I have to wonder - he's not the main character, but he wasn't at the X-Men-Premiere in London, either...

Could be because he is working on macgyver first season?
As for him doing other projects lots of actors do that Stephen Amell for example is the lead in arrow but still did teenage mutant ninja turtles. Like I said let's wait and see how he does lol
As for everything else yeah maybe macgyver is going to be green light and replace CSI
All actors are highly professional and it wouldn't be uncommon for most actors to think of every job as "doing a job between other jobs". As they live with the constant worry every day, that this job, may be their last.
Let me water down the role of an Actor... somewhat. They turn up (with lines learnt), they discuss with the Director how best to deliver those lines, they act in front of a camera, and a lot of their time is spent waiting around to be called to set.
They are not needed in the writer's room, or pre-production meetings, and never at the many post production stages. There involvement is purely at the production stage when they would be hired for a couple of days to attend various locations to act out scenes, from a script - and most of the time they shoot out of sequence, (i.e. shoot last scene first etc.)
So by way of example - MacGyver, could have started pre-production back in Jan/Feb, shooting got underway in March and post production finished in May. In all that time Lucas, may have only been needed or involved with MacGyver for (and I'm guessing) approx 10 days in total. He may have been learning his scripts for a lot longer, and may have attended a few days doing table reads.
It is quite common for actors to have multiple projects on the go. It can take months or sometimes years before projects go into production and eventually get screened.
To illustrate my point, the latest X-Men was probably shot a good year or so ago, and the post-production and graphic may have taken at least half-a-year to complete all the necessary elements. In all that time Lucas Till has probably done many other projects.
It quite common for actors...when attending premiere's to see the film for the first time and also have little or no recollection of filming, as it was such a long time ago in their world, as they have done loads of other work in the intervening period.
In summary, I wouldn't be worried about Lucas Till's commitment to MacGyver. He is hired as and when he is required and it is up to his agent to make sure that film schedules don't conflict with other projects. When CBS call upon Lucas for series, he will be as committed on this project as he would any other, at the end of the day... He is a professional.

Yes good point. I completely forgot about that.
Having said that though he does spend a lot of time promoting and interacting with the arrow fans on Facebook etc, which I think is a contributing factor to why that show became such a hit. He really does seem to love the character and I'm hoping for that kind of thing from the new MacGyver.
Makes you wonder about when the show would start filming and airing though.
