Apparently in Germany, the season 1 DVD release included a Special Limited Tool Edition which came complete with a genuine Victorinox 'Huntsman" SAK with the MacGyver logo printed on it!

This begs the question WHY DIDN'T THEY DO THIS IN THE US!!????? ranting2.gif

the release was limited to 3000 copies and was an http://www.amazon.de/exec/obidos/ASIN/B001CBX6MK/

I'm sure you all saw this coming tongue.gif but I have a bone to pick with Paramount, after all of exhausting contributions to wikipedia. I made it common knowledge exactly what SAK(s) Mac used most, and yet they use a Huntsman. Granted, they are actually 1) using a real SAK and not some cheapo knockoff, and 2) Mac did in fact use the Huntsman a couple of times. But still, a Tinker/Spartan would have been more accurate, and pocketable for first time users, not to mention significantly cheaper for distribution. Then I pointed out in my entries that the Mountaineer captures all of the tools actually used by MacGyver, and it is the exact same size as the Huntsman. The only singular difference is the wood saw rather than a metal saw, and arguably the wood saw is more useful to the average Joe anyway. Well, it's close enough, I can't really argue. I think I am actually talking myself out of having a problem with it really and picturing myself buying one haha.

I'm sure the decision was based on something like "stereotypical SAK that will neither be lacking nor too large." I would LOVE to get my hands on one of those but alas, it is an overseas limited offer that comes as a high-priced package deal sad.gif

These are just about equaling the cost of an assassination these days.

Would have been great to see other editions surfacing.

That is a bargain! I have just been VERY cautious about using iOffer. Not a very trustworthy source.

I use PayPal to pay for anything I buy on iOffer. So far I haven't had any issues, but even if I do at some point in the future, PayPal covers any purchases when you use them, with full money-back guarantee if the item never shows up, so you can't lose. smile.gif

Lol Mac2nite, I think the 'G' is offset in that German sak. hmm.bmp Do they just hire the engraver's who've had lobotomies? laugh.gif (kidding, sort of ...). Great looking collection & display!!!

Thanks Joe SAKic... and I think you're right about the engravers... they can't seem to ever get the name quite right wink.gif
