The Lost Skeleton Returns Again / Rated “So terrifying you’ll wish it were only a movie”
I have been looking forward to the sequel to “The Lost Skeleton of Cadavra” (2001) for a long time. It came out in 2009 and I just found out about it. Tells you how far out of the loop I am. Film maker Larry Blamire again makes a film with very little money and hilarious results that are very funny. His horror films are all homage’s to the 50’s horror film industry of that time. TLSOC was shot in color then converted to black and white for real authenticity. His special effects are deliberately bad on purpose. His dialogue sounds made up fiction. Now the same crew that was in the first film are not in the 2nd film again. They are in it again for the 1st time. And yes LB does love double double negatives. In TLSRA the crew is back but this time occasionally in color but not always. Only when then enter into the Valley of the Monsters does color make an appearance. The space aliens and the humans must travel to the Amazon (really Arcadia CA) and fight giant man eating plants and fend off horribly costumed monsters. The DVD is also available from Amazon.com. The Cantaloupe people, both of them, show up and do a dance. Lots of running around and fleeing from slow moving monsters keep the action at a feverish pitch when it is moving at all. The dialogue is full of negatives which double up then repeat. As horror films go this one is best appreciated by those who experienced the low budget genre first hand in the movie theaters of the 50’s better known as the 1950’s. All of the original cast has returned still looking for their big breaks in show biz. Since it’s now 2011, and the movie was released in 2009 apparently they are still waiting. The only way to see this film is on DVD or other ways. I chose the DVD as I prefer it to the other ways. If you like comedy, horror, bad costuming and dancing so bad it’s really bad then The Lost Skeleton Returns Again is looking for you to look for it. The DVD can be had for $10 or less or more if you pay more than $10. I paid $10. Well worth it again. You can still find the original first film for about the same price more or less. I recommend it too also.
Rated 3.0 out of 4.0 reasons that this movie is so terrifying you’ll wish it were only a movie. Reread. Again.
