I'm not sure if this concerns nit-picks.

MacGyver's knowledge of foreign languages differs from episode to episode. In "Ghostship", he tries to talk to the girl in English, German, Italian and Russian (as far as I remember). In other episodes, we learn that he knows some Spanish. Why doesn't he try Spanish? There are far more people who speak Spanish than Italian.

Perhaps she looked more European than Latina to him.

When the bigfoot attacks to Mac and the girl (after Mac puts the transmisor in the oleoduct) can briefly see a blue jacket of a technician in the set. It is only a second, before the camera goes to Mac.

since it turns out that the bigfoot was really just a person in a costume, how can you explain him busting through a door and table with inhuman strength?

In a TV display it is possible that be no visible because of borders of the image are losed in the bezel of crt(catode ray tubes), but in a PC Monitor that is really plain the full frame is visible.
Sorry for my english, but it is the explication for this details.

Judging from the way he throws MacGyver around and picked up that branch, I would say he was suppose to be some kind of over sized and over strengthed guy they whey where taking advantage of.

1 & 2 are still same TAKE meaning that director didn't yell CUT. Blue jacket is Mac's backpack, he would have showed up from camera left (1), but they splitted that TAKE and edited the scene where he took off backback and said "ou boy" to between 1 & 2. You see the camera angle is exact same since we saw bigfoot coming and after Mac attacked.
Every filmmaker use this method, its time saving to film some scenes in one take, than changing camera and light position just only for that one second "ou boy" scene

I wouldn't call Ken Kirzinger just a person. That guy is 6' 5''! And besides two appearances in Mac he's a stuntman like Dan Shea or Steve Blalock for a lot of movies.

I think he is best known (and it won't surprise me actually) as Jason Voorhees. He played Jason in the 8th Friday the 13th movie and reprised the role 14 years later in Freddy vs. Jason with Robert Englund (Flame's End). You wanna see two Mac-actors fight it out, that's your movie. And on his imdb page there are few interesting things he tells concerning the movie, like how it was working on it and who won. Apparently they tried to hold him back doing his own stunts. So I think he's strong enough to bust through doors. He also did that in Freddy vs. Jason.

He also has a few appearances in SG-1 as a Jaffa commander.

Did you see Mac have to look UP at him? RDA is 6'2" and looked small next to that guy. The dude is HUGE! Not a stretch that he would be pretty strong too.
