I think the poison that was used was applied to this knife, passed to the mutton when it was cut and then activated by the wine. - MacGyver. That look on his face is the same as mine when I drink wine that's too dry. I would think it's because he didn't like it because I'm not a fan of dry wine. XD
Most likely it was just something like grape juice. Jensen Ackles revealed some things used by the props department with alcoholic drinks and coffee. Apparently, coffee is flat Coca Cola, whiskey is Coca Cola cut with water and beer is a non-alcoholic variant. I dunno why, but I find that rather interesting... XD
