Wait, I'm confused. So the Codex storyline goes beyond 4x13?

I doubt it. I think when they talk about the season finale, they mean the midseason finale. Matalas left for Picard; so I'm sure Lenkov will focus on something else in the second half of the season...

I'm all for MacRiley, but I'd rather have MacDesi or MacSolo than a love triangle for another half season...

I 'd rather he'd be MacSolo, that way there wouldn't be any romantic triangle between these characters and he could another character w/o the drama.

MacDesi was like a crowd surfing right now, not a good look. But Lenkov will know how to make you choose between the lesser of two evils, that he created.

Is there talks of a season 5 or no?

there's lot of talks but mostly by fans and TV prediction sites. and by me, on my blog

the ratings are good enough for a renewal, but a S5 usually depends on a syndication deal and I don't know if they have one. also, the pandemic is an unknown factor.

I'm not an expert but I think the outlook is good. it's one of the only scripted shows on CBS that still has some episodes left to air after May. I expect they'll air up until the midseason finale 4x13, then keep the rest of the episodes until Summer or even Fall. that way, they can have it back as a Fall show, no matter if they can resume filming by July or not. if filming is delayed up until autumn or winter, they could even incorporate the leftover episodes into S5.

I hope we get some news soon. Upfronts in May are canceled, butI've read somewhere that contracts usually expire by June. so we should hear some news by next month.

It's also possible they "transformed" the mid-season finale into the season finale, holding back the rest of the episodes and incorporate them into S5.

That way, they don't have to film as many episodes for S5 and still will be able to make a full season if filming can't start in July. Guess all we can do is wait at the moment until there are some news.

There should be a hint until next month I guess since the contracts for the cast/crew will be done by June. They have to do contracts negotiations soon if they renew the show for another season. And even if they cancel it, they would have to prolong some contracts to finish all the post production before the contracts are terminated.

The upfronts would have been May 13 or 14 I believe. CBS is doing a digital presentation so maybe some news will come in a few weeks. I wonder, too, about filming starting this summer because the Georgia governor is slowly opening up the state. Here's hoping the worst of this crisis is behind us.

Regardless of what the (dumb) governor does, it's still the private sector's decision to open up or not.

Have you seen Tristin's page on IG? It's like she's auditioning for Vice News or being a citizen reporter the amount of vitriol and judgmentalism on folks on the COVID topic she posts everyday God says let there be light. She alone wouldn't be back.

I know NBC announced this week to do the digital presentation as initially scheduled, but nothing from CBS so far. I guess the other networks will put something together, though.

I doubt they can announce a schedule or any dates, but I guess they might present at least the renewals so far?
