Yes Mac would celebrate, and if a good friend invited him to a BBQ he'd go. He would just hope that any plans didn't involve crimefighting or treasure hunting or rescues.

Most certainly. It probably comes with having actually served in the American military forces as well, but even outside of that, MacGyver has always seemed to me one of the most patriotic heroes on television and I'm sure he would acknowledge Independence Day in some way or another.

Attend a parade.

Honor the fallen.

Gather his friends around for a picnic at the beach or a park.

Put on an awesome display of fireworks! ...or help.

Seems like big parties always over there on the fourth of July. Our independence day is the 21st of July. Usually there some sort of fair and market down at the square but that's it. No parades, no fireworks..., interesting though the banner says it starts in the afternoon but no finishing hour. It's taped over where it used to say that it lasted till 7 pm.
