I was in Canada twice, but both times it was not the right season to see it...

The season can be very fleeting or not. Some years they (the leaves) will hold on for weeks to their limbs with mind blowing colors, other years they fall very, very suddenly with very dullish colors. All decided by moisture, frost, wind, temperature and the combination of each. For example, an early frost(weakens their grip), followed by a wind storm and they'll all be gone before they get a chance to change ..... as opposed to steadily cooling crisp, clear, calm nights with no frost and then you'll get a lingering 'Picasso' !!!!!

We've had an epic spring thaw this year with record flooding along one of our major river systems. So .... up went the drone to try and document as much of it as I could and while trying to keep my feet dry at the same time ....

The music is oddly appropriate... lol Isn't that what was played during the sinking of Titanic?

Make sure you don't go down with the ship... err... drone.

Yeah, what do ya put for music for something like that? Gotta border on the sombre side I think but with not too slow a tempo. Still something strangely compelling to it all, the power of nature and how it engages, at will, to the urban landscape.

Not really. They're blaming it mostly on the 'spring melt' which are snows from 'upriver' liquidizing all at once. But is there more to such unusual flooding? (places MacGyver Environmental Cap on). Quite possibly .... logging (re: "Log Jam") can have a huge impact as well. Riverbanks that were once lush with water absorbing roots are not nearly as plentiful as they once were and over hundreds of miles of a river system - this can add up big time!

Interesting. Somehow it all feels like man is to blame.

My sister and I went out for breakfast yesterday. I dunno how many of you know Cracker Barrel, but it's a fairly popular "comfort food" restaurant. They have great pancakes. While we were leaving, I saw this lovely Jeep Wrangler and figured I'd share it.

I wish there were a Cracker Barrel closer to where I live. I think I've only eaten there when traveling to Michigan to visit family.
