QUOTE (DashboardOnFire @ 22 September 2016 - 02:56 PM) | It's fun how many articles, pictures and memes, fan videos of and about Original MacGyver are popping up right now in wake of the reboot! |
I hope the reboot brings more interest in the original. The weird thing is that I had the opportunity to become a fan any time between 1985 and 2016. But I wasn't really interested in 1985-92, although I saw a few episodes. I remember the trailer said something about "solving problems without guns or violence" and thinking that was technically inaccurate on the 2nd count as there was a loooooot of punching. Not that I disapproved.
And then I didn't think about Mac at all unless Patty or Selma mentioned him in "The Simpsons". Which happened a lot, when they were in an episode, but P and S have to share screen time with a lot of other characters so it's not like Mac got mentioned that often.
Then I just started watching the series again because it was on before or after something else. And slowly I realised that the lack of guns wasn't just a random gimmick. And here I am now, on this site, now, not before, but nothing to do with the reboot.
"They have no idea how well they cast this."
