Hollywood reporters is listing the pilots that will be aired during the fall 2016 television season and here is what is said about macgyver

MacGyver
Logline: A reimagining of the television series of the same name, following a 20-something MacGyver as he gets recruited into a clandestine organization where he uses his knack for solving problems in unconventional ways to help prevent disasters from happening.
Cast:
Team: W/EP Paul Downs Colaizzo; EP Michael Clear, Henry Winkler; EP/D James Wan
Studio: CBS Television Studios, Atomic Monster
Location: Portland

Still lists Wan as director (and considering Aquaman is around the corner my guess is Wann is probably going to direct the macgyver pilot sooner rather then later meaning we will get our cast maybe next week i hope)

I have no thoughts one way or another on this how about everyone else?

Does that mean it will be filmed in Portland or the character will be based in Portland?

Did you look at the date it was posted? Dec 2015.

A question always comes to my mind everytime I read something about a new MacGyver series:

Will they be able to create new Macgyverisms? Because if they end up repeting the same from the original series, it will become lame and tiresome.

Well with most of CBS's others shows cast my hope is that now CBs will start casting and announcing the cast of MacGyver.

and NBC doing Taken

CBS needs to promote MacGyver Heavily as it's their big Spy show for the fall

If anything is happening, I'm sure we will see something soon. We need to have a little bit of Yoda in us to wait for the announcement.

I just am so impatient because once we get the actor then fan art can start.

We should be getting news on the casting soon, as other recently announced pilots have already revealed their leads (i.e. Taken tv series ).

agreed My hope s that everything falls into place for the fall 2016 television session though I fear it might be January... but we shall see like I said I am glad CBS is confirming MacGyver is coming back.
