Better late than never...Me posting this on Monday evening, and Rosalind Franklin Mallory making her return.
-Love that Frankie is prudent enough to grab gloves whereas Mac just goes in head, er, handfirst.
-The idea of Mac getting stuck in a YouTube tutorial wormhole about extracting venom from poisonous snakes is amusing and totally believable for a modern MacGyver.
-Frankie with a Riley-esque look of disappointment as Mac is called away by Desi.
-Why Mac thinks he can get anything by Desi is kinda funny, but what's worse is he's still keeping secrets. I mean I kind of get it since it isn't exactly on the level, but why give her any more ammo for distrust? Mac needs to cover his (jogging) steps smarter.
-A couple where one partner is always sniping at the other, how endearing. Can't wait for more of this...lol.
-Is the lab soundproof? How did they not hear any of the shots that killed the lab assistants?
-I think I know why it took so long to ID the mercenary. A description focused on him being very ugly isn't much to work on.
-Bozer also falling into a YT/Discovery Channel wormhole about snakes is also humorous.
-Starting a large fire in a trashcan in a public park and quickly walking away in a stiff gait with a hoodie up doesn't seem like the best way to inconspicuously run away.
-Juxtapose how well Mac knows how Frankie operates with his relationship with Desi.
-The return of untrusting Russ.
-"And I know the type of equipment she likes." Again, see two notes above.
-Everything about the science of the pole vault is good, but if Mac can go that high on a flimsy "pole" with no practice or warm up then forget Sergei Bubka or Mondo Duplantis, Angus MacGyver is the best pole vaulter of all-time.
-Oh, Riley's fear of snakes is adorable.
-The only thing filmed with more cuts than this lab fight is Liam Neeson scaling a fence in the last
Taken film...haha.
-LOL. T-Rex rules.
-Phoenix doesn't exist as a gov't agency anymore. How does Matty have the ability to ground all air traffic at any airport?
-The airport is evacuating, but the loading of bags onto planes does not stop. Who are these guys the U.S. Postal Service? "Neither rain nor snow nor full-on evacuations will keep them from their appointed rounds."
-Mac making a ton of noise jumping on the carts and the driver of the baggage tractor does not notice. Ah ha! Maybe he's deaf and didn't hear the evacuation orders!
-Frankie knows what Mac is doing...
-They could almost rename the show "MacApology" at this point.
-Codex! *Law & Order dun-dun transition sound*
Yeah, I had some decent hopes for this one, but much like Dash it kind of falls flat for me. I think it's the lack of Mac and Frankie working together that kind of drags it down. That, and the confusing DoD angle that seemed shoehorned into the script as a way to act as a go-between to get to the Codex reveal. Oh well.
