I kept meaning to add that to Wiki, but yeah, he uses a 111mm model in that episode, as well as the one with the runaway hooker that was a cop's daughter... wow, never thought I'd see this day...
Let me dig up the list, I have a word document of each knife by episode. I've tried to add the list as a separate wiki, but it won't let me, so if anyone knows how to set that up, I'll add
Runners, that's it. He uses it to break into the window, and if you pause it, you can catch that it also is a 111mm. Then, a third time, he uses one in Gold Rush to dig at the ice. Actually, looking at the episodes, that one was the first appearance. Then he also has one in Easy Target, and Children of Light. So five times.
The 111mm series from Victorinox was released in 1989, so MacGyver was using it actually just before it went on the market. I knew the dates once, but anyway, those are all of the appearances. If you look at the list, he would often have a different knife for several consecutive episodes, then switch to another and use it a few episodes in a row, etc.
Another little known fact about MacGyver's SAK is that he used the Farmer/Pioneer (could have been either one), a SAK with metal handles, and 2mm larger than the cellidor ones. He used it in Eagles, and Twice Stung. It's even red metal so you have to look closely.
I am a huge SAK nut thanks to MacGyver and I watched every episode specifically to see the knife model and record it. I also recorded all of the blades/functions used by MacGyver, and I wrote, along with everything else, the conclusion in the wiki article about which SAKs he used, and which one would cover all the uses. And good eye A. MacGyver! I never caught that 111mm until years after I watched them all looking at the knives the first time!
