I have just started watching the episodes of Stargate from the beginning, I like it so far. It sort of gives me a substitute for my MacGyver fix that I need everyday. Do others on here like it?

I like Stargate very much. Not so much Atlantis... I still haven't finished watching those. But I love Jack O'Neill. RDA has so much fun playing that role, it is a pleasure to watch!

Actually, I was a Stargater before I became a MacGyver-fan. Based on the amount of fanfic I've written-- SG-1 vs. Mac-- I'd say that MacGyver stole me from Jack!

Jack's wisecracks are absolutely amazing his love to Sam... so beautiful. I can't say anymore, just all, all what's linked with Rick there is great.

Stargate was my first 'serious' meeting Rick (when I was very small child I knew MacGyver but not watch it). When my brother & Ewa were watching TV one day I came into the room and saw Jack in action... God, it's gorgeous, I fell in love with him
After that I started watching Mac and... fell down!

Yeah, my husband and I love Stargate Sg1. We own seasons 1-8 of Stargate and all seven seasons of MacGyver. The only TV shows that we own are those two. We are watching Stargate: Continuum (which we also own) right now since we have been expreiencing an ice storm and school got cancelled. Our 8 year old loves both shows too.

I love Stargate both SG-1 and Atlantis, but the best episodes are those with a lot of Jack. It was actually Stargate: SG-1 that lead me back to Mac. I watched MacGyver when I was younger, when I had time, but it wasn't "must see" for me. However, reading a Stargate/MacGyver crossover story (by Cindy Combs) lead me to seek out MacGyver again and now I just don't understand why I didn't adore it when I first saw it. So YES I like Stargate.

A long time ago there use to be a section on these forums for Stargate, but it was taken down a while ago.

So what season are you on?

I love Stargate (the real Stargate with Rick), but I still don't love it as much as MacGyver. I'm not sure why. It could be the nostalgia factor of growing up with Mac. I don't know. But yes, both shows are definitely worth viewing and having as a part of your collection!

No, really...Jack led me back to Mac. I watched MacGyver as a kid/teen, but SG-1 led me back to it. However, I'll be the minority here.

Ask me to choose, and it's Jack all the way.

But, um, I'd really like it if you didn't ask me to choose.

Oh, and SGA (Stargate Atlantis)...yep, love that one, too.

Seasons 1-3, anyway-just don't mention that episode named for a day of the week. We do not speak of it here. And 5 has been surprisingly good in spots, too. But, oh, seaons four...sigh...

SG-1 seasons...well, 1-7 (with the exception of 5...doesn't do much for me) rock, then 8, then 10, and 9 dead last.

But I'll stop there-could talk SG all day. All. Day.

I didn't know about Stargate until I joined this forum and people are talking about how wonderful it is. I watched the pilot and immediately fell in love with it. MacGyver introduced RDA to me and then RDA introduced me to Stargate SG-1. To compare, I like Jack's sense of humor and his interaction with the other SG-1 members, but I also admire the brain and talent of Mac. I also started watching from the beginning and is currently doing Season 5. I enjoy it so much!

I watched Stargate because I was a huge RDA fan from MacGyver, and I liked the movie it was based on. There was of course the frustration factor that it started on Showtime and took a year or two to reach syndication (pay enough for cable I refuse to pay for premium channels) so I had to wait to see it and once RDA left I pretty much stopped watching it, although I do have the complete series on DVD. The earlier season are better but I love the show

I adore Stargate SG-1 (especially Jack! ) - I wasn't overly keen on Atlantis at first, but it is now definitely growing on me (probably due to Jack making appearances occasionally).

Hmmm ... edging slowly over to the dvd player ... stargate ...

Put the DVD into your computer... then you can watch SG and talk here at the same time.

I ignored Stargate when it was airing; I started watching it when I got back into MacGyver, about a year and a half ago. It took a while for me to warm up to it (most of the first season, in fact), but I ended up loving it.

First one's free, you know...

I started watching StarGate because I Love fantasy/sci-fi. It was difficult at first not seeing RDA as a genius..
But I love Jack's wisecracking, smart-*** attitude, even though it usualy gets him in serious trouble.

I have started collecting both MacGyver and StarGate dvds. Both Mac and Jack are definately "drool-fuel"!

I love Stargate SG1 because of RDA. Like some, I only like Seasons 1 to 8 since the other seasons don't have RDA in them. I like every episode with RDA in it.

So your not actually an SG fan.. your an RDA fan.

At first i never really got into Stargate it was hard seeming RDA play someone who was holding a gun and shotting it, but one day the SFI channel did the re-runs thing before stargate went off the air and I got hooked big time. i'm still kicking myself for not getting into it sooner. oh well one lives and learns.
