@Krug:
Yeah i agree. "Friends to lovers" is a pretty successful recipe when it comes to relationships. Thats why MacRiley is more believable as a potential love story instead of MacDesi. Despite their 1 year long offscreen relationship, what i see on my screen is that Mac and Desi are 2 adults only turned on by adrenaline and when it wears off they just can't find anything common and start to get on each others' nerves.  blink.gif

@Shy175223:
To each their own. I personally support it if the writers follow a lowkey romantic direction with MacRiley. But i also love their friendship so much that if they always stay as great friends than its fine too.
The only thing i dont enjoy this season is MacDesi. Other than that Russ is amazing, i'm really enjoying the Codex storyline, im sure now that things are getting serious we will be seeing more Matty...

Agreed, friends to lovers is a good way for a relationship to start BUT it doesn't mean it would be a good thing sometimes for some relationships. To me there has got to be romantic and sexual chemistry between the characters not just friendship. Like I said, I just don't see it. They have a more of a brotherly, sisterly relationship. It just not that believable to me. huh.gif

-What's this? A Phoenix Fight Club? Should I even be talking about this? LOL. I found this weird. What was the point? Since when is Mac a fighter? I get that there has to be self-defense training, but...OK.

See, this is why i can't bring myself to like MacDesi. This scene has no point at all. It adds nothing to the story and is only there to show the viewers "Hey look! Aren't they have great sexual chemistry?"... (My personel answer is 'no' btw)
I kinda hate it when a couple is forced like this. MacDesi unfortunately don't feel natural to me at all. And their whole romantic story happening offscreen doesn't help either. I just hope that they break up in good terms, stay friends and move on.

Same here also the same with MacRiley. These two characters have been friends since the beginning and all of sudden Riley develops feelings for Mac, give me a break. rolleyes.gif

But isn't that a pretty organic and common way for relationships to form?

I'm no expert on relationships...lol, but that would seem a much more natural progression and recipe for success, whereas the other side of the coin (Mac and Desi) is based on adrenaline and the sense of adventure/excitement, and when that wears off, there's very little there as far as true personal connection goes.

In some relationships sure, BUT not in this one. I just don't see it. dry.gif

Maybe just a re-creation of the longest foreplay ever that they did in Episode 3x17 (in the frozen seed vault) tongue.gif

Or maybe they finally decided to use Lucas' real life skills - like him speaking German in 4x04. Lucas filmed a movie a year ago, and his character boxes regularly. I know he used to do Jiu Jitsu, but maybe he also had to box for that movie and they thought it's a good idea to use since Levy also is experienced in martial arts? We might never know.

I was rather weirded out by the hockey stick being Desi's since Mac has his own hockey stick. We've seen it in Season 1; leaning against a wall. Like his skis and the surfboard. I think it's all decoration for him anyway tongue.gif

True. I had forgotten about that, but there's been so little Mac's house this season, I guess it's no surprise.

It would be nice to see him partaking in some of those activities...even if just as an opener. Would add to character development.
