Some of these are forgotten for good reason, but who remembers "The Phoenix"? A short-lived 1982 series about an ancient astronaut being awakened and searching for something or other. You'd probably have to be like me and be "comfortably middle aged" to have seen that one.
The 1980's yielded a number of now-forgotten shows like "Werewolf", "Automan", "Manimal", "Something Is Out There", "Starman", etc.
Before that, in the 1970's, I can recall "Project UFO" and "Space 1999".
Jump to the 1990's and we have "Threshold" (which I kind of liked), "Surface" (OK, I guess), "Space: Above and Beyond", and the alien invasion/conspiracy series "Dark Skies".
I don't know- could "Space 1999" qualify as obscure/forgotten?

I love forgotten shows as you call them.
Space 1999 lasted for 2 seasons only but it was considered ahead of its time. And of course Martin Landau became a familiar face because of it.
I remember a Logun's Run TV series and the Man from Atlantis and even the Planet of the Apes TV series in the 70's. The 80's Street Hawk, The Highwayman & The Master with Lee van Cleef. And of course he underrated Dungeons and Dragons cartoon series.
the 90's, Dinosaurs, Millennium, Harsh Realm (1999-2000 Loved it!), Early Edition. Loved Dark Skies too.
2000's, Firefly, Dark Angel (Season 1 was superb, then they lowered the budget and it died), My So Called Life, Terminator: SCC, Tru Calling (Loved it), Roswell, Carnivale, Invasion, Bionic Woman.
Some shows have been just great but opinions slurred and the majority vote was usually a thumbs down.

QUOTE (Jediferret @ 1 February 2018 - 03:00 PM) | Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about. That was a bit before my time though. I know my sisters had things for John and Roy, according to my mother. They were born in the 70's.
How about Street Hawk, Airwolf or V? Too popular? XD
Street Hawk was my jam back then. Viper was the 90's, then I started watching Anime in the late 90's.
Anyone else watch Anime besides me? Or am I the only nerd here that watches Anime? XD
Ronin Warriors and Sailor Moon got me hooked in the mid-90's. Though I had to sneak around to watch it because my mother thought Anime was from the devil... and I'm not joking on that either. lol |
My mom used to watch Airwolf. I used to have a thing for Knight Rider myself. (Well, I liked K.I.T.T. anyway. I wanted a talking car as a kid... LOL).
My niece really likes anime. The only anime show I really watched was various Sonic The Hedgehog shows as a kid.

I used to watch a lot of anime myself.
Macross / Robotech was my favorite. Crusher Joe Ghost in the Shell Cowboy Bebop Fullmetal Alchemist
Been wanting to watch Steins: Gate but haven't had the chance.

Yay! I'm not alone! lol Rurouni Kenshin is still my favorite. I've seen all the ones on your list except Crusher Joe. To add to that, Trigun and Outlaw Star. I've been rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Netflix. Such a great Anime. Ever notice that Markiplier looks like Maes Hughes? lol

Yeah, that's the Emergency I always loved watching, but I'm not sure if that's the one being discussed. I think there was an Australian show called Emergency as well. |
Yes that's the one. In Australian and New Zealand in the late 70's there was a Baywatch-esque show called "Chopper Squad" which was about a surf rescue helicopter team operating on Dee Why beach in Sydney. Wikipedia actually states that it's been claimed that Baywatch was based on this show... so there ya go! In the early 90's there was also an awesome show from Australia called Police Rescue, which I think the US show True Blue was based on.
