Some of these are forgotten for good reason, but who remembers "The Phoenix"? A short-lived 1982 series about an ancient astronaut being awakened and searching for something or other. You'd probably have to be like me and be "comfortably middle aged" to have seen that one.

The 1980's yielded a number of now-forgotten shows like "Werewolf", "Automan", "Manimal", "Something Is Out There", "Starman", etc.

Before that, in the 1970's, I can recall "Project UFO" and "Space 1999".

Jump to the 1990's and we have "Threshold" (which I kind of liked), "Surface" (OK, I guess), "Space: Above and Beyond", and the alien invasion/conspiracy series "Dark Skies".

I don't know- could "Space 1999" qualify as obscure/forgotten?

I remember watching Starman (the TV series, not the movie). But I don't remember any details. I was about 17 at the time.

I remember Something Is Out There, well... the made for TV movie that was supposed to serve as it's pilot. It was actually rather decent.

It kinda suffered the same fate as Earth Star Voyager, which was another good one. My sisters and I used to have that entire movie memorized. lol We watched Wonderful World of Disney when we were kids. The 100 Lives of Black Jack Savage was another one we watched. It didn't last long though.

I love forgotten shows as you call them.

Space 1999 lasted for 2 seasons only but it was considered ahead of its time. And of course Martin Landau became a familiar face because of it.

I remember a Logun's Run TV series and the Man from Atlantis and even the Planet of the Apes TV series in the 70's.
The 80's Street Hawk, The Highwayman & The Master with Lee van Cleef. And of course he underrated Dungeons and Dragons cartoon series.

the 90's, Dinosaurs, Millennium, Harsh Realm (1999-2000 Loved it!), Early Edition. Loved Dark Skies too.

2000's, Firefly, Dark Angel (Season 1 was superb, then they lowered the budget and it died), My So Called Life, Terminator: SCC, Tru Calling (Loved it), Roswell, Carnivale, Invasion, Bionic Woman.

Some shows have been just great but opinions slurred and the majority vote was usually a thumbs down.

Which Emergency are we talking about? I think there were a few shows with that name.

The only "Emergency" I can recall watching was the old 1970's show about a firefighting/rescue unit.

Yeah, that's the Emergency I always loved watching, but I'm not sure if that's the one being discussed. unsure.gif I think there was an Australian show called Emergency as well.

Yeah, that's the one I was thinking about. That was a bit before my time though. I know my sisters had things for John and Roy, according to my mother. They were born in the 70's.

How about Street Hawk, Airwolf or V? Too popular? XD

Street Hawk was my jam back then. Viper was the 90's, then I started watching Anime in the late 90's.

Anyone else watch Anime besides me? Or am I the only nerd here that watches Anime? XD

Ronin Warriors and Sailor Moon got me hooked in the mid-90's. Though I had to sneak around to watch it because my mother thought Anime was from the devil... and I'm not joking on that either. lol

My mom used to watch Airwolf. I used to have a thing for Knight Rider myself. (Well, I liked K.I.T.T. anyway. I wanted a talking car as a kid... LOL).

My niece really likes anime. The only anime show I really watched was various Sonic The Hedgehog shows as a kid.

Oh, yeah...Street Hawk and V!!! I remember thinking of Street Hawk as kinda a Knight Rider on a motorcycle! This thread also got me thinking about a show but I couldn't remember it until now and it still may not be right: Misfits of Science. Did it star Courtney Cox?

Forgive me if this sounds random, but does anyone else remember this show, or am I the only one young enough to have watched it? Not that I'm calling the rest of you old, it's just that I think this played from 2000-2001.

Not sure that I would file "Airwolf" under the obscure/forgotten label. It seems to have quite a few people that still remember it fondly. Haven't heard that anyone wanted to reboot it, though.

I like to watch reruns of Emergency. I can always remember John and Roy's name, but then I forget that the people on Adam 12 don't have the same names. I dunno why... tongue.gif

Loved Dark Skies too.

Yes! Another Dark Skies fan! And it's star, Eric Close, had a part as a security guard on MacGyver some years before.... in "The Prometheus Syndrome, " I think.

Close was actually in several great series that got canceled after only one season. He was in another one called Now and Again three or four years after Dark Skies. He played a man who dies after falling off of a train platform and the government harvests his brain to use in a genetically-engineered body; he spends a lot of the series trying to figure out a way to get back to his wife and daughter. Dennis Haysbert played the quirky "mad scientist" who heads up the program keeping him hostage.

Rurouni Kenshin is still my favorite. I've seen all the ones on your list except Crusher Joe. To add to that, Trigun and Outlaw Star. I've been rewatching Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood on Netflix. Such a great Anime.

Ever notice that Markiplier looks like Maes Hughes? lol

Another forgotten sci-fi...Babylon 5. Used to watch it all of the time. Met two of the actors from the show at a con in Columbus Ohio. I met Robin Atkin Downes and the late Richard Biggs.

Now that you mentioned it Jedi he does biggrin.gif
Crusher Joe is hard to find because it was before Robotech/Macross. But it’s a lost treasure consisting of a movie and 2 OVI’s.

Beth, Babylon 5 was good

The only "Emergency" I can recall watching was the old 1970's show about a firefighting/rescue unit.

Yeah, that's the Emergency I always loved watching, but I'm not sure if that's the one being discussed. unsure.gif I think there was an Australian show called Emergency as well.

Yes that's the one.

In Australian and New Zealand in the late 70's there was a Baywatch-esque show called "Chopper Squad" which was about a surf rescue helicopter team operating on Dee Why beach in Sydney.

Wikipedia actually states that it's been claimed that Baywatch was based on this show... so there ya go!

In the early 90's there was also an awesome show from Australia called Police Rescue, which I think the US show True Blue was based on.

Forgive me if this sounds random, but does anyone else remember this show, or am I the only one young enough to have watched it? Not that I'm calling the rest of you old, it's just that I think this played from 2000-2001.

I loved that show!

Yay! I'm not the only one! biggrin.gif

I like to watch reruns of Emergency. I can always remember John and Roy's name, but then I forget that the people on Adam 12 don't have the same names. I dunno why... tongue.gif

I liked Adam-12, but haven't seen it in years. I always found it funny that Martin Milner played James MacGyver in "Passages".

I can recall the original "Battlestar Galactica" series in 1978 (and it's follow-on "Galactica 1980"). The critics were pretty merciless on both shows but I actually enjoyed them.

Yeah, as soon as I saw him playing James MacGyver, I was like "THAT'S THE BLOND GUY FROM ADAM-12!"

I've seen one full episode of Battlestar Galactica (before they took it off Netflix dry.gif ) and a few minutes of another episode. I was super excited because Face from the A-team (Dirk Benedict) and Ben Cartwright from Bonanza (Lorne Greene) were on it!
