Something I found really funny about that show was that it was suppose to be set in medieval England or Europe, but every scene where they are out in the woods at night you can very distinctively hear a native New Zealand owl calling.
The owl is known as the Morepork - play the video and you'll hear why.
The owl's not that common to hear, so it seemed to me like they added the sound effect for some reason.
I suppose they may have used the same area to film all the night forest scenes and there might be a local owl there, but then generally they only use directional microphones so as not to record any unwanted sound when they're filming outside.
