Found this movie I loved since it first came out, I wish Hollywood would leave well enough alone.

Almost Paradise was the theme to my Senior Prom. Why don't the just leave the classics alone. It would be remaking The Sound of Music.

Once a movie has put out great music it should be left alone. No-one can play Kevin Bacon's character on Footloose better then he did. Just my thoughts. mad.gif

That has got to be the lamest idea. dry.gif Don't they have any originality left in Hollywood?

just goes to show how pathetically devoid of originality, and unbelievably lazy, Hollywood has become.

What's next? 'Weekend At Bernie's"? "The Lost Skeleton of Cadavera"?

I think I'll save up my money for a pre-frontal lobotomy. dry.gif

It makes you wonder if all the talent died in Hollywood, and since they don't have new scripts and ideas, they are studiously murdering all the old ones. mad.gif

Or just go see Star Trek again.

Remake of Footloose? Tragic and sad.

Well, they tried to remake Dirty Dancing and we all know how well that went over. They even went so far to change the name to Dirty Dancing Havana Nights. That didn't even warrant watching.

The movie directors should be sued for murdering classic movies.

Hey I gotta an idea why don't they remake Casablanca. Now talk about hurting an old movie. That would be just unthinkable, unforgivable, and I don't down right, oh what's the word I'm looking for? hmm.bmp

You must have read my mind. I was thinking the same thing the other day. That story (and cast) are sacred. If they tried to remake it, too, it would be a disaster (it's one of my favorite films).

I don't see why they can't leave the classics alone. We get to watch them on our local PBS channel here in VA. When I'm sick the first movie goes in is Singing in the Rain. Why mess with perfection when it was right the first time around?

I'll have to send you my old prom picture. It was when the girls were wearing the "Civil War" dresses. My mom wouldn't let me out of the house in one of those dresses that they wear today.

I'm ashamed to say that I come more from the generation who thought wearing the sluttiest dress to prom made you the most popular. dry.gif I see nothing wrong with that dress, and you look lovely. smile.gif

Thank you. Goochland High School is pretty much out in the Country. There were a lot of very similar dresses there, and I actually wore it for both Junior and Senior prom. In fact I was going to marry the guy who took me to the prom. So he saw me in my wedding dress and it didn't work out.

Don't be ashamed, about what you wore to the prom. My mother was a very southern lady. In fact if she could have had her way I probably would have worn the long white gloves with that dress. Each generation has it own style and taste. Ours was the "Civil War" dresses.
Some of the schools here in Va won't let the drop in the back below your waste, and you can't show a lot of cleavage.

Did someone say long white gloves? blush.gif

What a beautiful dress. That would be a wonderful wedding gown, prom dress, or coming out dress. I still have my prom dress put up in a box, and the little lace clutch bag I carried.
