I think it would be great and maybe add some substance to this MacGyver's history if the writers were to bring Richard Dean Stanton on for some episodes playing this MacGyver's dad. what do you think?

Hi Oldskhool and welcome to MacGyver Online. You are referring to Richard Dean Anderson. Not Stanton.

This has been discussed before however RDA (For short) has already declined a role in the reboot. Mostly due to the sake of fans who are displeased with the new show. Producers claim they are still trying to negotiate with him s anythings possible but don't hold your breath.
