This post is Reboot-related, so... on October 27, CBS airs the "Michael Jackson Halloween Special" on 8pm.

Both Lucas Till and George Eads voice characters besides Jim Parsons, Lucy Liu and others.

CBS decided to not air a new Episode of "Hawaii Five-0". They will air MacGyver Episode 2x05 (Skull + Electromagnet) instead at 9pm. This will be the Halloween Episode with Mac and Team travelling to the Bermuda Triangle. You can find the press release and the link for more Official Stills in the Promo Materials Thread as usual.

In case anyone is interested, short storyline via http://www.billboard.com/articles/columns/...l-preview-video

The show will follow millennials Vincent (MacGyver star Till) and Victoria (The Flash's Kiersey Clemons), who meet “accidentally” on Halloween night and find themselves, along with Ichabod the dog, at a mysterious hotel located at 777 Jackson Street called This Place Hotel. Once inside, Vincent and Victoria go an unexpected, magical adventure of personal discovery, culminating in a spectacular dance finale featuring an animated Jackson.

As well as being a MacGyver fan, I am also a huge fan of Michael Jackson. MacGyver and Michael Jackson shaped my adolescence and early teens (I'm 18 now) with their wit and philosophies in life which I have tried to apply to myself, too. Michael Jackson really was judged as a person, and it's kinda sad that in lots of ways, he died as a broken man though he just wanted the best for the people of the world.. Wish he would have had more 'MacGyver-like' people in his life to help him along his way. I've always wondered before if Michael watched MacGyver, cause he'd probably like it because like Mac, he was also for peace and all that the RDA MacGyver stood for.

It's kinda great that, in a way, my two favorite fandoms and worlds have collided into one with this MJ special, with Lucas Till being the voice of the lead of a Michael Jackson project. However, I don't try to get too excited because recent posthumous projects for MJ have been let-downs for me and a huge number of fans (like a lot of us wanted more unreleased music, there are still hundreds left rumored to be in the vault, but they instead released a compilation album of edgy MJ songs for Halloween and promoted it as if it were a new album). In my opinion, though they have had good posthumous projects for MJ, quality isn't really their best suit, so I hope this special really is good enough to live up to the MJ name and also hopefully not let Lucas Till get flack for being in a project that could be just a money-grab for some.

Any Michael Jackson fans in this forum, too? smile.gif

I wouldn't label myself as a fan, but I grew up with Michael's music playing almost daily on the radio. And my mom had "Thriller" on a record.

So far, I can't name a song of him that I don't like. He made some really great songs and was very talented.

Digging through the vault for my blog post - an interview with Lucas from October 27: https://ontvtoday.com/michael-jacksons-hall...oon-voice-debut

He talks about the differences of filming and doing voiceovers.

“I’ve always wanted to” do cartoon-voice work, the friendly Till maintains. “I thought, ‘Well, a couple of “X-Men” movies (in which he co-starred) have gone by. I’m an established actor now, and I’m going to jump into voiceovers.’ And that’s not how it works. I like doing funny voices and stuff like that, but it wasn’t so simple to get into. And it’s not so simple to actually do; I was spending my weekends doing it, and it’s not as simple as you might think.”

Indeed, Till explains, “Talking to someone face-to-face is a different thing. Doing this, you literally look like you’re in a Disney show; you’re overdoing it when you do a voiceover, but that’s what works. It’s a totally different animal.” That was even more the case for Till since he wasn’t “with the other people you’re so excited to be on the card with,” recording his lines by himself. He reports that except for Eads, “I haven’t met a single one of them.”

Till readily attests to being a Michael Jackson fan: “Come on, I don’t think you can’t be one. There may be people who are super-fanatical about him, and I don’t reach that level, but I love Michael Jackson music. In this (special), almost anytime you hear anything by him, it’s a mash-up of at least two of his songs. It’s really cool.”

Though he now anticipates spending his Halloweens enmeshed in some sort of action on the set of “MacGyver,” which recently started its second season (and immediately follows the Jackson special), Till enjoys spending Oct. 31 in the traditional way whenever he can.

“I try to dress up, obviously,” he says. “In Los Angeles, there’s a Halloween party just about every day in October, so there’s someplace you can dress up and go to. There was a point when I had been to two or three parties already and didn’t want to re-wear the same thing when I was going to see a lot the same people again.

“In the ‘X-Men’ movies, I played Havok, whose suit had a beam focuser on the chest … so I got a paper plate and took a Sharpie and drew a pattern on it, and then taped it to my chest. And I was Havok for Halloween that year.”
