Just wanted to let you know this. In MacGyver - Trail To Doomsday when Mac's meeting up with the gang in the warehouse he's surrounded by them. The man first appearing and the only one who talks is credited as Dixon played by actor Huggy Leaver.

Now I just found out he had a role in a Belgian series called Matroesjka's, meaning the Matryoshka dolls. The series is also known as Matrioshki and in America I think (if it was ever broadcasted there) Russian Dolls: Sex Trade. It's a raw and violent series about women trafficking. They show how Eastern European and Asian girls are being sold to nightclubs in Belgium under false pretenses. They say clubs are looking for dancers but their contract is in Greek and they are also not told that they have to strip and have to have sex with clients. The girls are thinking they are going for a better life.

It's really something for HBO. Anyway why I say this is because I bought that series and I'm watching it now and I thought I knew him from somewhere. Though he only peeks in quick in Trail To Doomsday, I think it was the heavy British accent and the low voice that did it for me. He's only a guest star for the first four episodes of season 2, where he plays the business associate and brother of a dance club owner in Thailand.

It was interesting to see him (though he hasn't done anything big besides a few cameo's in movies like Judge Dredd with Sylvester Stallone and as a pawn shop owner in Fast and the Furious 6) with some of the best Belgian actors, like Peter Van den Begin, Axel Daeselaire and Luk Wyns.

If you can get your hands on the show, I highly recommend it. It's a dark and violent series with lots of profanity and nudity. So keep that in mind. I don't know if the series was ever dubbed in English but my dvd's has English subtitles. Because of the international character several languages are spoken in the series: Flemish with Antwerp dialect (I think a lot of the jokes might get lost in the translation of the English subtitles), English, Lithuanian, Russian, French and Thai.

This shows again how surprising it can be what peoples are doing to get somewhere.
