Hi folks,

I thought I would bring a question to the experts: which model is my Dad's old SAK?

It looks like a Super Tinker, but it has no hook. 3 layers: can opener/bottle opener, scissors, and large knife/small knife. Awl and Phillips driver on the back. The keyring loop (it is missing the wire keyring) is very thin and flimsy. It is a full-size, 3-1/2" red SAK which must be 20 or 30 years old. One of my earliest memories of my Dad are the unique scratches in the red handle of his SAK.

I think it actually is a Super Tinker, but its age sets it slightly apart from the current tool being manufactured. I'd love some input on how the Super Tinker changed over the decades.

Thank for the Wiki link! It was there that I found my answer, which is that my Dad's knife is a Super Tinker - the original incarnation of the ST lacked a hook.
