With a little over six days remaining, the eBay auction for the float home used to film the hit TV show MacGyver has made the number 1 viewed auction on the site with a staggering 111,831 views which continues to climb by the minute. An eBay representative told the owners during a phone conversation "In my 3 years I've never seen anything come close to this" After hearing this news owner Dave Edmonson immediately decided to contact the Guinness Book of World records to see if they had a category they could use. Presently they do not have one so the owners are now starting a campaign to create a new "Most views on a single item on eBay" category.
The floating home, which according to the owners is different to a houseboat (as they wrongly called it in the show) because a houseboat has a motor or other mode of self-propulsion, was used as the home for the lead character in ABC's hit 90's TV show 'MacGyver' for the majority of it's 7 year run and most fans of the show consider the float home to be as much a part of the character as the Swiss Army Knife he is famous for always carrying. In spite of the world wide iconic status of MacGyver and the die-hard fandom the show still enjoys, the owners are still "overwhelmed by the response to our auction so far."
